I have a theory/headcanon about this video: Blank is a sort of fight-or-flight defense mechanism. He is "activated", so to speak, when Ethan believes he's in grave danger. Anti and Dark wanted to turn Ethan into Blank, so they found him and started trying to frighten him. At 0:55, Anti covers Ethan's mouth with one hand and puts a knife near his throat with the other. Then, a few seconds later, Anti just... lets him go, smiles, and puts the knife down. To me, that sounds like something you'd do if you wanted to scare someone and make them THINK you were going to kill them, but you didn't actually want to physically harm them. Now, Ethan caught onto what they were trying to do early on, so while he was frightened, he managed to at least prevent the full-on panic required to bring out Blank. Unfortunately for him, Anti and Dark are _persistent_ , so they kept chasing him, threatening him, yelling at him. Then, in the end, as Anti and Dark towered above him, each shouting nonstop over each other, Ethan finally became far too overwhelmed to keep the panic (and Blank) at bay anymore. EDIT: There are a couple issues with this, though... I imagine that if Blank was a living defense mechanism, he would probably be extremely skittish, but 1. he was smiling at the end, and 2. why would Dark and Anti want him anyway, then? His nature would most likely make him very hard to work with. What could he have that neither of them do, that would make it worth it to try to get him to work for them?

(You are Ethan in this story) You are walking in an abandoned apartment building regretting that you had ever started a _Doing Your Dares_ series, but it was to late to turn back now. You had already said you were going to do it in a stream. You hear a dripping sound kind of like water hitting the concrete floor. You freeze from fear, it takes you a few seconds, but you slowly start moving backwards (still facing the way the noise came from) towards the stairs in which you came, when you hear footsteps you quickly turn around to see a shadow slowly coming up the stairs. You start to panic now, while trying not to hyperventilate you try to think of a way you can use a tripod and a camera as a weapon. You see a figure come around the corner that kind of looks like... "Mark?" You whisper before you could stop the words from coming out of your mouth. "Ah, Blank, I see you have cared to join us." He said in a deep voice that you know isn't Mark's. "My name's not-" but you get interrupted by the sound of high-pitched laugh. You turn to see yet another figure, and as it comes closer you see it looks kind of like your friend, Jack, but it wasn't Jack, the Jack you are seeing here wasn't the same Jack you knew. This Jack had a cut on his neck and blood all over his hands (which you assume is cause of the dripping noise because the blood is dripping onto the floor) he was also holding a knife. "Jack?" You whisper (when will you learn to keep your mouth shut?), "Dark, this isn't Blank" he said in a high-pitched voice, "Blank would always call us by our real names". You didn't know who Blank was, but you assumed he looked like you. '' 'Dark' looked at you and said, "What's your name?" "E- Ethan", you reply. "What do you think we should do with him, Anti?" 'Anti' replied, "I don't know" "Who's Blank?" You blurt out (This is starting to be a problem like shut up, dude) 'Anti' laughs, "He doesn't even know who Blank is." "You don't know who Blank is?" "No, 'Dark'." You regret saying it right after though because 'Anti' immediately stopped laughing and 'Dark' looked a little mad. "I have an idea, Dark, come with me." Anti said. They start to walk away, without thinking you make a run for it. Dark, who was expecting this, grabbed the hood of your hoodie and pulled you back. "Just let me kill him, Dark" "I don't think that's a good idea." 'Anti' didn't listen and started to walk towards you. "Jack, please, This isn't like you" "I'm not Jack, I'm Anti!" He swung his knife at you... You wake with a start in your bed, breathing heavily. You look at your clock and see that it's 10:13 and you're late for your collab with Mark and Tyler, you are doing the _Markiplier makes: Egg Drop_ video, you hurry go over to Mark's place (a little reluctantly because of the dream you just had), you knock on the door and Mark opens it. "Hey, Ethan! We almost thought you weren't going to come." "Sorry, I woke up a little late" "Don't worry, it's okay." He puts his arm on your shoulder and you flinch a little, though Mark didn't seem to notice this. Throughout the day you're a little more jumpy than usual and a bit of your game (I mean we all saw how the egg drop video went). The End. Edit: this isn't a story to the video it's just a story in general.

Bad... personality traits. They represent their worst personality trait! Since they are singled out, they are magnified by a ton. Just think about it- Dark represents Mark’s need to control everything, but it’s crippling and deadly. Dark will do whatever it takes to remain in control. Anti represents Jack’s love of fun- but it’s sadistic and Anti’ll do anything to have fun at other’s expense. Blank represents Ethan’s anxiety and ADD, so he’s afraid of everything. This fear causes him to act irrationally and lash out. Combined with ADD, Blank would constantly be moving around bringing attention to himself, causing his anxiety to send him into a panic attack, thus snapping and breaking him completely. I’m just speculating though...

That fits well with my theory/headcanon. :) I'm looking to see if I posted it here already; if not, I will. But basically, my idea is that Crank is a sort of fight-or-flight defense mechanism. Dark and Anti wanted to turn him into Crank, so they tried to scare him as much as possible, and eventually, it worked. EDIT: Not Crank, Blank! >~< BLANK is the "dark" version of CRANK, not the other way around!

In any good horror movie/show the bad guy will always walk faster than you can run. In this case Dark walks faster than Ethan can run.
