They do a beautiful of this song but removing the names of Joseph, Mary and their son (Jesus) bothers me. Why do they keep removing Christian lyrics to Christian songs? You cannot separate Christianity from renaissance Europe.

Candice is Jewish. They change the lyrics for her. I think it's beautiful that she still sings these beautiful songs (with great messages) by making the tiniest of changes.

@@michaelclark2458 I'd never heard this song before. I've still never heard another version of it. But because of this version, I found out what the original lyrics were. I think that's a fantastic way to get the name of Jesus out there, if that's what your objection is. As far as the renaissance in Europe, it was all about the resurrection of the Greek and Roman gods in art, music and sculpture. I'd say the part the church played in it is rather overstated at times (unless you're looking at Italy, and that's a whole other kettle of fish).
