Darkrai Event at Toys'R'Us Times Square

Japan got Darkrai the same way: Directly with a Cherish Ball. The only difference is while we got ours through toys r us, they got their Darkrai at the movie theaters. Shaymin will be given out the same way next month in Japan as well.

SeiferA is correct. japan had it almost the exact same way. the origonal plan was to give out the item, but there was an exploit to clone pokemon VIA the GTS. thats why they have the classic ribbon, and banned any pokemon with that ribbon from the GTS. it is just to help keep it exclusive to the people who took the time to get it.
