Darkseid's "lasers" are called Omega Beams, and they're able to track anything he chooses to track. In other words, he kind of does see out of them, but they can follow a character just about anywhere. On top of that, you can control his lasers in game with either both of the analog sticks or one or the other, I'm not sure.

DarkSeid uses Omega Beams that follow the enemy and only Batman has ever avoided them. DarkSeid's ultimate is his Omega Beams maxed out and they will follow the enemy just like the comics. They removed the target lock on normal Omega Beams because it would be too over powered and unbeatable otherwise Edit: My phone got stupid and I couldn't type unless it was one letter at a time

Darkside hasn't been in any movies yet, but there are indications in batman v superman that show he is the one lex is talking about in the after credits scene. "the bell has been run, he is coming." Note the omega symbol on the ground during batman's dream about superman being evil.
