The best Batman. It's easy to mourn what we didn't get... but Batfleck's character arc is so solid and satisfying throughout BvS and ZSJL. We get to see him go from his lowest and darkest to a hopeful and heroic leader who forms the Justice League and revives Superman. Hell, his last scene is Martian Manhunter telling him his parents would be proud. A beautiful conclusion.

@Bruce Wayne I know that some people consider him as a great Batman and I'm excited to see him in the flash fighting alongside Michael Keaton, but let's be honest that there will be a new universe in the future and if you want Ben Affleck to get back in the DCU. He could back in a new role that surpasses Batman like Deathstroke or Vandal Savage like those roles are more interesting and complicated than Batman. Like what I said I don't mind seeing Affleck and Cavill receiving new roles in the DCU just like Chris Evans in Marvel.

At least Snyder made Batman's descent into killing and then him seeing the error in his ways part of his character arc, rather than having Batman kill *on screen* but still trying to claim he doesn't. But on that note... are you seriously going through ALL of the comments of people calling Affleck the best Batman just telling people they're wrong? People have different opinions man. Let people like what they like. It's mad how people call Snyder fans the "toxic" ones, yet every single time I even comment on a YT specifically of ZSJL, I get some lurking non-Snyder fans obsessively telling me and everyone else why we're wrong just for liking this version. @CJ HUMALA I like how you once again say Batman killing goes against everything he stands for, whilst deliberately ignoring the fact the Bale kills multiple times, and Keaton even kills with a smile on his face like he's enjoying it. But yes. Batman isn't MEANT to kill. That's the point of Batman in BvS. It isn't the Batman we know anymore, and Superman serves as a symbol of hope by bringing him back to that in ZSJL. You might not like it, but it's far better than the Nolan and Keaton films where he straight-up kills without any explanation whatsoever. (I also happen to like Nolan's and Keaton's films too - I'm just not a hypocrite who holds some films to different standards than others, and only criticizes one for breaking a certain rule without criticising the others for the very same thing.)

Who knows, but man I would have LOVED to see him get the Hellbat suit at some point. Here's how I would've liked to see it play out... Batman upgrades his gauntlets from ZSJL, which allows to him to block Darkseid's omega beams in the Batcave after Barry goes back in time and warns him to save Lois. Even upgraded, the gauntlets still get overwhelmed by the sheer power of Darkseid's beams, mortally wounding Batman before Superman turns up and fends off Darkseid. Then, before the final battle, a wounded and slowly dying Batman creates the Hellbat suit - an incredibly powerful, high-tec suit of armour that gives him the power/energy to fight in the final battle. However, as mentioned, he's dying, and the suit will only speed up that process due to the sheer energy it uses to keep him fighting and for the armour to be strong enough to go up against a being like Darkseid. He shows it to Superman and explains (the audience don't actually get to fully see the suit yet), and Superman is reluctant at first. He doesn't want to see Bruce further harmed/speed up his death after he has already essentially laid down his life to protect Lois... but Batman reminds him that it's what he does, and Superman finally concedes before they share a heartfelt moment, reflecting on their journey of going from enemies to partners who brought out the best in each other before the end. And so, in the final battle, we see the Justice League and earth's armies charge against Darkseid's forces, and at first we don't see Batman properly as he rides into battle in the Battank we see at the end of ZSJL. Then, at some point in the battle (maybe after Superman has already been fighting Darkseid for a little bit), the Battank pulls up next to them... and out climbs Batman, revealing his Hellbat suit in an epic fashion. Darkseid, shocked to see Batman still alive after being blasted by his omega beams earlier in the film, says "No one has ever survived my omega beams before. What *are you?" to which Bruce finally says his iconic line for the first and last time - "I'm Batman." Then we get to see Batman and Superman fight Darkseid side by side, and somehow Batman makes the ultimate sacrifice to save the world and kill Darkseid. Perhaps Batman has further upgraded his gauntlets for the Hellbat suit, which allows him to absorb Darkseid's omega beams this time, then blast all the power back at once - a catastrophic energy surge that can only be done once, almost entirely destroying the Hellbat suit but killing Darkseid in the process. After Darkseid has been killed, Batman lies dying in the shattered Hellbat suit on the battlefield. Superman holds him, and Bruce thanks Clark for helping him see the light... then Batman passes, his last words being ones of gratitude to Clark for being the symbol of hope that both he and the world needed, and urging him to keep being that symbol - the exact opposite of how Bruce saw Superman in BvS, further completing his character arc. Then the saga ends - with Superman well and truly being the classic version of the character, and with Batman dying and being remembered as the most heroic version of himself that he's ever been. They both become exactly what they're meant to be thanks to each other, and the world is safe with the Justice League protecting it... but never forgetting the cost, thanks to Batman's ultimate sacrifice. They always keep a seat empty for him in the Hall of Justice to remember and honour... the Batman. Well, that turned out to be an essay I wasn't planning, but hey. A fan can dream.
