Astarte is a goddess in the middle-east that was worshipped during the bronze age just like Tiamat in darksiders 1 is the primordial goddess of the seas in mesopotamian mythology.

@Reverence93 Astarte isn't bad. Abaddon explain clearly she has been turned into something else because of the dark influence in Eden. More than that, everyone is at least in a gray area in Darksiders, there is nothing about christiany turning others or whatever. Abaddon, the champion of Heavens, turned into the Destroyer and Lucifer is the main antagonist. The seven deadly sins are from the christianity. If something is turned to be evil, Christianity stands out than anything else. Tiamat isn't a good character to begin with, so there is no shame making her strictly evil. Anyway, they just used her name, she has nothing to do with the mesopotamian goddess.
