Anita is the small girl that always follows Donovan Baine around. She is 2'9' and 29 lbs. Anita carries an old doll that seems to be a memento of her mother. She had always been with Donovan ever since she was adopted by him from her orphanage. Because of her inhuman powers, she was shunned from society. This, coupled with witnessing her parents deaths, caused her to lose her emotions. She regained her emotions back as Donovan lost his humanity in the events of Night Warriors. She is also the probable ruler of humanity, which both Donovan and Jedah knows.

I've playn darkstalkers in the past but it was before I knew the mechanics of the game, thank you Rooflemonger, and now I play darkstalkers everyday. It is so much fun and it's the perfect middle of easy and complex in its gameplay. I love this game and it instantly jumped into my top 5 favorite fighting games of all time.

After being reminded of how Victor's body parts change size when he attacks, it made me imagine how amazing Victor could look with the RE Engine they're using for SF6, considering the incredible under-skin muscle flexing they've pulled off so far with, for example, Ryu during his super uppercut, or his win animation.

In Japan, there was a split in regards to preference of the game. Daigo (pyron main) for example said he much preferred Vampire Hunter over Vampire Savior. Also said that the arcade scene in the 90s was way more active for the Vampire series prior to Vampire Savior.

I only ever played Darkstalkers 3 on the PS1, so I've never seen these stages, but loved the individual character themes in the training mode. Now that I have the pictures to associate with them, it's like the darkness in the background is finally gone.

I have a crazy theory that is already in the works, if you look at one of the new Darkstalkers artwork included in the CF collection, there is this artwork with all the darkstalkers and Morrigan in the center with a hand on her chest, then is Bishamon below and Bulleta(BBH) at the left, I think you can get which one I'm talking about, take a closer look at the characters, I'm an artist, and I know that now in some digital art apps you have 3D mannequins to pose to ease the character drawings and stuff, but these seem like the artist somehow had access to 3D models for every DS character, look closely at Morrigan and Lilith head wings, bishamon armor, Jhon talbain tail, Lord Raptor hands and feet, Hsienko's metallic hand blades, the apple and the wine bottle, all of them seem like 3D models with a filter and some hand made art over them... supposing that the artist just used the models to make a better piece how would he get access to all those models, from what?, I doubt he made them, maybe Capcom wanted to hint something there, to see if the fans catched it, or maybe the artist actually made his art look like straight 3D objects ??...

I love that Max is playing as Donavan, my #1 favorite Darkstalker character. Jon Talbane is my #2. Wish that Donovan & Jon would both be featured in a future Vs game. I wonder if Max has ever watched the 4 part anime adaptation of Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge? Man this whole series is the predecessor to MvC with the crazy and fast fighting, Vampire Savior is definitely the one that you can just tell the similarity between it and MvC. And if we ever get a new Darkstalkers game it would probably be as similar to the combat in MvC as possible, I mean they have the perfect formula for most characters in those games

So glad I no longer have to emulate this game. I can take it with me to go and play a couple rounds. Playing the secret characters is always fun. Playing Shadow and watching it possess the opponent after the end of the round. Don't know if it carries on to the next round with your opponent though.

Donovan's story is actually rather tragic. In his ending, he is corrupted by the blood of the Darkstalkers he slays, losing his humanity. In the Playstation Darkstalkers 3, they added a weird Mugen hack type character called Dee, who is a hybrid of Dimitri and Donovan who is supposed to be corrupt Donovan. Dee's ending after you beat Jedah has the game pretending to continue at first, sending you to an unknown location where you fight an unnamed opponent who is obviously an adult Anita. As soon as the announcer says "Fight!" it fades to white and goes to a credits sequence where Anita visits Donovan's grave, with the scene hinting that she ripped his heart out in that fight.

Man I love Darkstalkers. I've been playing this collection a lot, but I must say I forgot how hard the cpu is for the 1st game 😂. Even on like the lowest difficulty they can be tough. Could also be from how the timing for the combos are as I feel like in 2 and 3 not only is the game play abit more fast pace, but it feels like combos or special moves are much easier to pull off.

Now if only I still had my Darkstalkers: Jedah's Damnation Gamefan strategy guide! I don't know why Capcom didn't follow-through with that great title for the world release. Here's to hope that Capcom adds a "Complete" roster toggle option in an update that adds ALL extra content from the home ports of the applicable titles. It's actually crazy they didn't consider including this in the beginning. CFC should be the one-stop place for these classics! The JP physical release was SO close to delivering that. Make no mistake: This is still a must-buy!

Vampire Savior is one of the best 2d fighting games of all time and I play it regularly online on PS5. Its too bad its not crossplay and its not really crowded. Because this game is ridiculously good, the controls, the movement, the pace. Vampire Hunter is also sick but the original I don't really like, it has no chains and its a more standard fighter.

A very REAL shame that DS Chronicle-the one that has every character in every form a la Hyper SFII (and in the West referred to VH2/VS2 mode as DS3 Special)-was only ever released on the Dreamcast and PSP. And we STILL don't have Ruby Heart, Amingo and playable Anita in there. Still, it's great that Darkstalkers is finally getting the proper fresh chance it needs.

My favorite part of Vampire Chronicle (I wound up, err... playing it through the means I could on the Dreamcast) was how it even had modes for versions that shouldn't exist, like Darkstalkers 1 BB Hood, which clearly shouldn't be a thing, and DS1 Huitzil and Pyron are pretty close to their boss selves.

I had Darkstalkers on the Sega Saturn as a kid. I played quite a bit of Jon Talbain. Also as wifus go I preferred Hsien-Ko over Morrigan or Felicia.

You can do the same with Anita's in Marvel Super Heroes. Funny part is some hits give the opponent _negative_ meter, and if you stun an opponent with that hit, it can drain more than a full level. Neat thing about Anita is she's basically a mini-Donovan if you think about it. Pretty sure she can even plant the sword.
