This is one of my new projects that I have been working on for almost a year. It will be finished and released this year. Most concepts, some remixes, and a whole lot of Darkstalker action!

The album is working in title so for right now its named the "Darkstalkers IV Project". I'll be uploading a few more up here soon (hoping that life doesn't really get in the way of things). Yes, this will be free to the public. You can even use the tracks in Mugen. Random thought: I would love to see a Mugen game, all based on Darkstalkers with new mechanics and whatnot.

I’ve gotten so tired of waiting that I’ve started writing a bootleg Darkstalkers called Nightkin. It’s main plot focuses around a post apocalypse earth after a Demonic Vampire Lord opened up a portal to ours an unleashed the monsters there upon our world. In earths defense nature itself decided to unveil its own supernatural and paranormal spirits and creatures to defend itself. Humans took different sides of all kinds unsure of who or what to trust anymore. The werewolf character is easily one of my favorites so far, being a mix of the Wolfman, the big bad wolf and the beauty and the beast character. This world heavily draws from universal monsters, fairytales and vampire apocalypse themes. Hopefully you can read it someday for I’m only in the stages of writing it now, but I’ve been working on character ideas, collecting photos of what I want certain characters to look like. Once I find someone who wants to animate in a game hopefully you can see it come to life.

​@@shanelogan630That sounds awesome. Both your story and Darkstalkers have a cool premise: Earth is threatened by an otherworldly force and the only defense are the monsters mankind fears. I've been trying to make a story with inspiration from Darkstalkers and Disgaea, focusing on making characters out of different monsters. Had to figure out how to not just throw darts at a list of mythical creatures or make it stand on its own. The solution I got is making the monsters function as RPG classes, like werewolf for fighter or vampire for rogue and that stuff. Premise now is a Frankenstein character getting powers from different monster families in a gangland story, probably ending up with this villainous protagonist needing to save everyone from some divine looking lovecraftian horror. There'd also be monster hunter archetypes like detectives, plague doctors, paladins, etc.

Thank you I wish I knew where to begin or who I could talk to about pitching an idea like this. One of my favorite aspects are side characters that add a more goofy and cartoonish aspect to the otherwise serious and intense main characters. Select ones have side characters that aid them in combat. The two main heroes, the dragon rider, has his adopted sister and love interest as well as his friend and small pet dragon (the dragon increases in size with a blue dragons orb that temporarily allows him to be ridden and breath fire at his enemies for a special attack). The girl has an enchanting voice that heal as well as fortify his defense or undo other side characters hindrances like poisoning or black magic. The werewolf’s side piece is by far my favorite. They have a beauty and the beast style relationship except that she’s a hooker he saved and has become obsessively in love him and has no love for humans at all. I didn’t wanna blatantly name the Werewolf Jon but the fact a Jon is a code word for a guy who picks up hookers I just couldn’t resist. Might have to legally change it but I’ll cross that bridge when I get there. The switchblade wielding hooker though can be called in to use that or even funnier and more effective on characters she can run directly up to a certain character wrap her arms around his neck and very blatantly show off her chest, to which wntices, surprises, confuses or even revolts the characters just before she knees them in the crouch and returns to the side lines. These side characters remain on the side unless called in to aid their compatriots and while on the field can be hit by main characters. If they come too close to other side characters or if ordered through button command, instead of targeting main players on the field they can attack other side characters. One of them in specific does this. The female lieutenant of the commando type character in the game will fire upon side characters with her gun or blatantly assault them as well as the son of Dracula’s character who has a succubus side character that feeds upon or does athletic attacks on not just main character but side characters. This succubus will also allow the Dracula character to feed off her and regain health even if it knocks her out for the round, so she will continually attack and attempt to feed on the side characters to prevent her knock out.

I got off the track, the other main character is a goth assassin with a demonically possessed sword harboring three snake demons that make up each of his special attacks, as well as a goth girlfriend at the side armed with throwing knives and a automatic hand gun. Not only will she intervene by shooting or throwing the knives she also has special moves being a fighting aid rather than a healer, and will attack main and side characters with martial arts, her throwing knives or gun, a close range knife attack or running up on opponents and choking them with her spiked collar to allow her sword wielding boyfriend a chance at a free hit.

Jon Talbain is easily one of my favorite Darkstalkers characters. I hope that Darkstalkers 4 becomes a real thing someday, that or have him make an appearance in Street Fighter V, Jon's moveset would fit so well, but the chances of him appearing are very slim... because... Well, werewolf.

Well, it would be pretty possible as a guest character imo. Both Ryu and Jon Talbain are very similar: 1. Both like to fight 2. Both have a dark side 3. Both are able to use some part of their darker side (Hadoken, and werewolf form) 4. Both need to go beyond their limits to suppress their dark side. Maybe Jon Talbain will stay in human form. A Darkstalkers moveset will be too over powered in the game (e.g. Dash attacks, light-medium-heavy simple combos), so this will make him more balanced, as he borrows powers of his other side instead of "owning" it. Maybe in his V-Trigger, he will be shrouded with an aura of a werewolf. Faster, easier combos and exclusive attacks, such as a dash attack. I dunno. I'm kinda hyped for his arrival in the game. Meeting Ryu to know his ways of suppressing the evil within him.

I'm sure if Jon was added in SFV, Capcom would make it so he wasn't overpowered, but I do hope he stays in his werewolf form. If he doesn't at least make it a V-trigger. The reason why Jon is one of my favorite werewolves out of gaming is because he's a martial arts werewolf, which is a really cool concept. If he were to remain human without any way to go werewolf that would kinda ruin him for me. Part of me hopes that he will remain werewolf because as we all know the Street Fighter universe has its fair share of unique characters such as Blanka.

Can't say I disagree with you. I also forgot that a soul hunter made of mud is also in the game. Heh. Better yet, Darkstalkers could be an expansion pack for the game. Bison is trying to destroy the world + Street Fighter and Darkstalkers are in the same universe (cannon)... There should be a conflict there between fighters and Darkstalkers :D

Talbain`s always been a cool character, he used to be my favorite but as I grew older I became more attached to Lord Raptor. They`re both similar in that they can change into humans at will but while Jon hates being a Darkstalker, Raptor loves it.
