With Dark Stalkers it would be very difficult to 3D model the characters. Think about it. One of the biggest limitations of 3D modeling is how stiff your characters end up. Dark stalkers is a game where characters conjure all manner of things out of thing air, they stretch, morph twist and split apart on a regular basis while doing their attacks. Its what makes this game so great. The fluidity and exaggerated nature of the movements and moves. 3D modeling just can't do that.

I Totally agree! All of the characters are crazy unique and its almost insane how you see different sides of all of them. From what they do to what OTHER characters do to them. Cutting them in half, Gender-swapping them only to make taking their blood more pleasant, making them put on puppet shows, Blood injections until they blow up, dunking them like basketballs... the list goes on and on XD In all honesty, Its one game I would love to see a 3D version of, but in the mean time... THIS XD

I think limiting the character designs to 3d models would probably ruin this game as it would something like Skull Girls where the characters move and transform in all sorts of crazy ways that 3d modelling just couldn't replicate. Can you imagine trying to model Ankaris for instance?

XD It would be Bloody AMAZING! Even when I play Darkstalkers now, I still see techniques and moves that i never saw years ago. Darkstalkers is so unique that it would be a shame not to play a full 3D version. Seeing those stages come to life would make me faint. You should have seen my reaction to the Tower of Arrogance stage when I realized you fight on the SIDE of a building xD I wish companies would kick-start games people actually want. As long as they don't scrap it, TAKE MY MONEY.

But most importantly, is there any reason it shouldn’t exist? Fans want it and to be honest it’s pretty much the next step for Capcom. They spent a TON of money and time making this remastered version with a few new character portraits(much like SFIII) but they didn’t go the “let’s make new sprite art” route.

Nah, Me and Drrailaa Understand that 2D plane that Darkstalkers is in is very unique and creative but we also believe it would be very interesting to see what they would do to recreate the art. See the thing is I'm not thinking of simple port. I want it to still have the same dark feel. I want to see bizarre lighting all over the stage, an animated flame on the lifebar, and flashy animations. We know it would be difficult but that still doesn't change the fact that we want to see it happen.

-There was demand for darkstalkers character to go into other games too(all of the vs Capcom games) so this is totally what people and maybe even Capcom wanted. When was the last time they even made a brand new sprite fighter? Everything is in 3D now. My Dream would be a New Gen Darkstalkers entry to be honest. Yes, work work, blah blah, but we WANT IT XD It’s not like they haven’t been TEASING It for a while now.

well they changed him from a projectile fighter to a rushdown type, but otherwise yeah he stayed top tier.

Ankaris? YES, absolutely! To be honest he’s kinda like sentinel only with interesting ways of using projectiles, like dropping coffins on enemies. He’s somewhat stiff and his actual animation for standing is kinda slow. Ever seen how they transferred Dante’s portal jumping and warping from the DMC games? That can be applied to Ankaris long range grabs and special. Giant attacks like the Snake arm wouldn’t be a problem either. I’d have a slowly forming bandaged snake at a fixed animation speed.

Such as Little Red Riding Hood, Snow Yeti, And Hopping Vampire/Zombie. Too classic? Hsien-Ko is just "like" Lee Bilong(dead) in Shaman king. Why? They're both Jiangshi. I'm not saying she CAME from that, but shes just "like" that. People are allowed to make comparisons as such based on what they've seen. I am in NO WAY saying that this is rip of Disgaea Nor am I saying Hsein-Ko is a rip from Lee Bilong. Why does that even tick your sense? Its a move used by a character. similariites happen.

That was made by Compile Hearts and was more of a Darkstalkers meets Mana Khemia in terms of characters. Disgaea only had Etna and a Prinny. Also while the story and the cut scenes were gold, the fighting system okay, the experiene points shaving and that godawful overworld along with the cryptic as fifty hells true end unlock that required a cheat sheet to accomplish ruined it for me. NIS needs to handle a proper cross-over.

I KNOW THAT! XD you guy are too serious. I know Darkstalkers is older than Disgaea. I even played it before Disgaea lol "Like" doesnt mean- "it comes from something", it means its "similar". In fact history could play no part all. I could be just a disgaea fan and that could be my draw to the game. This is rerelease of a classic that some people probably havent played. A LOT of people are gonna say things in references like that.
