For windows, copy the svg watermark files in the watermark folder of ypur darktable install. Easiest way to find the folder is to search for "watermark" in your darktable install directory. On my machine its located at C:\Program Files\darktable\share\darktable\watermarks

Sometimes I like to set "simple text" and put a single space in the text field. This gives a totally blank watermark, i.e. does nothing! But then I choose uniform blend, ~ 30-50% opacity, and either overlay or softlight method for a quick contrast boost. Why do this? The advantage is that watermark is (afaik) last in the processing chain, so this contrast boost will come after any other changes I make, which can be handy sometimes.

Just a very silly note on the pronuntiation of Hugin (so that you have mentioned this question a couple of times in another videos). I have not real info, but the icon of the program it's someone giving a big hug, so... I can Imagine ti will probably be somthing like hug-in (the idea of embracing toghether the pictures that form a panorama). Just my guess...

which distribution do you use? For the svg, you can import a PNG/JPG into inkscape and then export it as SVG without any further tracing, and it will work too...

A cool thing about svg is that you can have variable strings that gets substituted within the svg document. So you can add watermarks that have date, title and description per image if you want. You can see a list of available variable strings in the documentation, www.darktable.org/usermanual/en/effect_group.html

I don't know about that, but you can always use the watermark module, set a mask with uniform blending, and then reduce opacity to 5%.

~/.config on mac as well. Also, obligatory reference to Harry Durgin here. He shows in several of his videos how you can export your darktable image, wrap it in an svg and then bring it back as a watermark for some primitive compositing.

My issue is why does the watermark effect the histogram?
@audio2u2 жыл бұрын
Because the histogram is reading ALL pixels as they will appear at the output/render stage... That would be my guess!
@theyear15002 жыл бұрын
@@audio2u that is what I figured as well, but the watermark is only applied at the last stage. No other module effects it. Yet it changes the histogram while you edit. I just wait to apply it right before exporting, but it seems like they could have made it be ignored.
@audio2u2 жыл бұрын
What you could do is create a style that only adds the watermark. Then, create an export preset which includes that style. That way, you don't need to add the watermark during your processing.
@theyear15002 жыл бұрын
@@audio2u thank you, that is a great idea.
