Black Metal riffs are easy yet the atmosphere they create is so pleasant. Great cover as always!

Easy to play, but not so easy to write. I've been trying for a year and a half to write a black metal song that creates an atmosphere even somewhat similar to those created by bands like Darkthrone, Burzum etc. and I have yet to succeed.
@Kevin.7.4 жыл бұрын
@@HateMyself247 I think so too. I believe emotions also play an important role at the moment you're trying to create these kind of atmospheres. And that combination sounds sick! Wish you luck on that. 🤘

As a bass player myselfe, this is much apreciated! I would be cool to see some bass tutorials, some bm basslines are really innovative, it's not just following the guitar.

A beautiful cover. Darkthrone for me is probably the ultimate bm band, or at least they were back then!

So true. What makes dt the best is that they are mega talented and punk at the same time. They don't play "simple" music cuz they can't play. They can actually play so very well that even "simple" music becomes extremely intens. Varg is in a total other league. He's an utter amateur.

Fuck yes!!! One of my fave songs from Darkthrone

What's funny is that the sound of that album has been the object of ridicule countless times, but in fact it's so difficult to recreate and so perfect for that kind of Black Metal.
@betelspitter3 жыл бұрын
The sound of this very album is pure GENIUS. It's META not metal. The songs have a very cinematographic feeling. This sound (lo-fi) can be compared with a grainy black and white film. The mood enhances instantly using this particular "production". The problem back then was that metal had become a metaphor for highend technical skills, highend recording studios (eg. scott burns sound) and highend revenues for the labels and bands. Ironically Peaceville made quite some money with this TRVLY VILE KVLT MVSICK!!!
@alexanderschubert99753 жыл бұрын
@@betelspitter Agreed, also, a production like this isn't easy to recreate just by using shitty equipment. Darkthrone themselves said that it took them years to develop that sound.

@@alexanderschubert9975 jups and that's why DT are the only (2nd wave) black metal band i listen to and consider pure art. This combination of punk, meta(l), minimalism and experimentation is (musically) as important as say Charlie Parker or Pierre Henry. This DT sound has been copied by thousands. Thousands who failed. Ps. Feel free to give me any tips of other genuinely interesting BM bands. Not Burzum. I think it's a farce. Not Bathory. I have his first 3 albums. 👌🤘🥳
