Even in the least scary guitar of all, with no absolute effects, the riffs still sounds haunting. That's just how legendary this riff is.

I'm around the same age as you are back then right now (14 yo) and started listening to black metal around an year ago. It helps me to hold myself and gets away all the rage thus also giving me a first reason to start playing on a guitar. Even tho my peers think that it is weird to love metal music nowadays, i still do it and i don't hide it. Very thankful to Burzum, Darkthrone, Mayhem and other BM bands who make my days!

As others have already said, Black metal is a very melodious and even elegant genre with all the complexity and genius of an orchestra. It's just that it's way too heavy and rough to the untrained ear and I think acoustic covers like this really help illuminate its greatness to everyone.
