How can Darkwater not be a more well known band? I put this album up among my top 10 albums of all time... That is after 20 years of listening to absolutely everything from Dream Theater, Angra, In Flames, Kamelot, Lamb Of God and many other bands across different genres. That says alot about the talent of these guys. Keep it up, can’t wait for the next one 😎

@Malcolm Reynolds gotta check it out. When I first heard alive song I thought DW was Circus Maximus. Actually the guitar solo in this track also brings CM to my mind...:p but I really like the breathy/emonatiol touch of DW. These track is like food to your soul.. I travel within myself in the most positive way possible, and I find a more focused and thoughtful self about the adversities of life. Sadly I just discovered Darkwater only two weeks ago with Amazon Music, which I highly recommend. Happily, in that short time frame this band has become one of my absolute favorites. I've been listening to ProgMetal since I first heard Dream Theater back in the early 90s and have heard and/or seen numerous bands. I also discovered ProgPower USA just six years ago and missed seeing so many great bands, including Darkwater; I highly recommend you check out PPUSA, you will not be disappointed. Ok.. now back to DW. Markus is an extremely talented guitar player (the solo in Alive II is one of my all time favorites) and he, along with Henrik, and Magnus, know how to write excellent lyrics and killer progmetal music to go with it. Absolute amazing music which makes me feel raw emotion! There aren't a lot of bands out there which do that to me. Darkwater should certainly be at the top of any progmetal fans's list. I'm going to guess that their long haitus before and after Human, has affected their fan base and the ability to grow it. However, I know Markus (I think Henrik too) are involved with multiple bands. I've just begun to go through Markus' other projects and need to find where I can hear more of Henrik's voice. I love his voice and it's perfect for DW; he's been blessed with an amazing set of pipes. This entire band absolutely kicks ass and should be as popular as DT. I know they are working on new music, but I also know that nothing is being released in the near future. I hope we don't have another 9 year wait and I'm hoping they will return to PPUSA once more before the festival permanent shuts down. I think it's pretty interesting that many of the top progmetal bands I like are from Sweden or Norway. I hope I can take a vacation soon and visit both of these beautiful countries.

My impression just from reading the words, is the idea that someone can bottle up their problems and refuse to admit they exist, out of fear of confronting them, but this attitude also closes them off from being helped with their problems, and from that special someone in their life (friend, partner, teacher) who can clearly see the person is suffering but is helpless to do anything until this person wants to be helped. The narrator seems to be singing this song to his friend to persuade him to open up and let himself begin to be healed, even if it means acknowledging that he needs help.
