I had this Disney cartoon tie-in for my NES back in the early 1990's. And to be honest, it was one of the most brilliant Disney games, since DUCKTALES 😺👍🕹️.

Ngl I feel like the best way to describe Darkwing Duck is a “poor man’s version of Mega Man with difficulty that is too high in contrast to the enjoyment of the gameplay.”
@Avrelivs_Gold7 ай бұрын
as a person who played DWD before MegaMan, it's vice versa. MegaMan is a poor man noname franchise without any story, made up villains, mostly bad music (except MM2)... While DWD has everything, especially cool music, cool stages, is extremely polished and pleasant to play.

Are you referring to the NES version? Because while it's definitely a Megaman clone, it's a damn good one and a top ten NES game in my book. I didn't think it was hard because I loved and played all of the Megaman games as a kid though.

4:38 That D the AVGN spent half his video trying to get is totally easy, he just didn't know how to double jump!

Haha yeah. It tells you in the manual that you can bounce off of stuff by holding down mid-jump. It works the same as Mickey's bounce in Castle of Illusion.

But Capcom supported PC Engine and its add-ons both themselves and via licensees. For example, Hudson Soft, being a partner to Capcom, ported 1941: Counter Attack to SuperGrafx.

Interactive Designs might have to have been one of the least competent western developers at the time; This and both TaleSpin games are prime examples of just how lazy they were; heck, they literally re-used the boss theme from TaleSpin here. They couldn't take full advantage of SEGA or NEC's consoles to deliver a quality experience that could rival some Japanese developed titles at the time.
@ust-orda_player5 ай бұрын
Interactive Designs were closed by 1995/1996 thanks to Sega killing several studios after Saturn launched in the US.

This game is only 22 min long. Was AVGN right about this game? The input lag, difficult to double jump? or did he over exaggerated it to make a funny video?

He always exaggerates to make the video funnier, not that I find most of them funny either way. Glitches and Big Rigs are the only two I ever enjoyed.
