Slightly more pricey, I know, but I am totally in love with my Bahco P51-HSL shears. They have served me well! Mine are the old orange, long-handled pair, which only seem to be available with silver tubular handles now (But the blades look unaltered). They were built to last from top quality materials, good to maintain / sharpen (occasionally!) & they still cut beautifully. Darlac is a rather "cheeky" brand that, like Aldi, has cornered the market in ripping-off other companies' designs & has established a showy, cut-price outlet in so many garden centres.

A nice review once again Matt. I was looking to buy the solid foraged ones as my darlac telescopic ones didn't last very long. The handles worked loose very quickly and the rubber buffers dropped out. I did like them for the short period they worked. It could be the case of a bad pair which happens in all ranges from time to time. 👍

the quality can be a bit up and down with tool at this price point as you say. no worry with the drop forge shear their as tough and nails.
