The year was 1942. The Japanese Empire had reached its zenith. Celebes was occupied and Russell and Darlene Deibler were both interred in Japanese POW camps. Russell Deibler was dead within a year, and now, Darlene, a widow at age 26, would depend solely on the Lord.

Thank you for creating this video. You did a great job distilling a complicated story into memorable highlights. What faith and fortitude in her, a reminder too how the Word of God comes back to us when we are in need. I really felt the Holy Spirit when hearing the part about those bananas… Help me trust You, Lord, and forgive me for not trusting You.

Thanks for sharing. I will share this story on Missionary Sunday I am glad it is short because I heard her testimony which is too long to share. It made me cry. but I shared it with a friend and tell other's about her that. God bless and richly for this short version.
