My opinion of "The View" is not complimentary to say the least, I watched them once that was enough for me. Your explanation of bullet size was spot on and easy to understand. I grew up hunting with a variety of different rifles of various calibers, 30-30, 30-06, 308, and my trusty old 44. To me the problem is not the rifle be it an AR or a Muzzleloader, it is the person behind it. Prayers for Cameraman Ron.

My mom watches The View, then tries to tell me all about the “good” episodes. I agree with you Daniel 100%!! I was in law enforcement for a short period of time. I was a marksman with a .38, that was a VERY LONG TIME AGO!! I’ve never been deer hunting but I absolutely love venison. I can almost say with certainty that none of the women on The View have ever even eaten venison let alone gone deer hunting. They are speaking out on subjects they haven’t a clue about!! Thanks for explaining the difference in bullet sizes.

I never comment but I was probably considered a Tom Boy , I stayed in the garage with my dad making 30 ot 6 bullets and shotgun shells. My job was to put in the primers but I graduated melting the metal and pouring the bullet heads into the molds. He always measured the powder or pellets that went inside the bullet or shells. So I know and understand your education about bullets. The ladies on the view didn’t know anything about hunting deer. We were raised on venison and went to the gun range twice a month and I became a good shot at 12 years old. My parents belonged to the NHRA. We were all taught safety and how to target practice. We even made 22 casings. We were a family of 6 so my dad thought it was cheaper to make our own. He had all the equipment , we all got to shoot at the range and your lesson brought back many memories. Thank you for the education.

Well I'm one of those ladies that know squat about deer hunting or guns..I am a townie and not interested in the deer hunting so skip through that on the video..I do believe Semi Automatic guns that shoot like multiple bullets should be banned. You're not going to use them for any sort of hunting unless it's human and we don't want that. As for the AR rifles you are using to hunt no of course not..your bullet size explanation was great. I didn't even know it was only the tip that was shot tbh..those arrows look like they'd do the most damage to be honest..Im a Brit so gun use is not prevalent in the UK.. yes hunting is still done but guns have to be registered and its not easy to get hold of a 'legal' one..

Thank you for explaining this on this video. I’ve hunted all my life and on a lot of guns, including a AR15. No gun is the problem. It’s the mental health of these people that’s the issue. Even the morons that are trying to take these guns and others away from the law-abiding Citizens of this great country should be able to understand your explanation. Thanks for the video, Daniel. Houston is so much calmer these days. He's maturing fast! I'm a terminal bachelor and never had kids. I was "the fun uncle"! When I could still get around the woods, I used saboted 240 gr. .44 slugs in my Knight Inline, with 150 grains of Pyrodex. Gave me performance about like a .308. If the wind and my nerves were right, 200 yards was kinda easy. Not a lot of chances for "long distance" shots where I am in SE Ohio, so that set-up was perfect for me where i hunted. So glad you took the time to show the differences between different rounds and calibers. You're good people! Thanks! And I'll keep praying for Mr. Ron. I lost a great friend in May. I'd known him for forty years. Best buddies for at least thirty. He got sick outta nowhere. Got really weak and winded one evening. Took him to hospital, and everything started shutting down. He was on every machine you could think of, but brainwaves shut down. His family let him go on his birthday. He was 56, just two years older than myself. I miss him a lot. So, Ron's getting rocket-propelled prayers from my little house. God bless him and his, and God bless you and yours. Take that young gentleman to the woods everytime you can.

Daniel, I think what the problem is that a Assault weapon can fire a lot of rounds in a very short period. Now you may say that this weapon can only fire as fast as you pull the triger. But many have modified it to fire as fast as the trigger is held, Thousands of bullets can be expelled with large magazines. So, I think what the ladies are saying is that doctors in emergency rooms comment on the damage that these rounds make in humans. They pounce around in the body and destroy a lot. As a Trooper, I'm sure you used a riffle similar to these models. Now If the weapon is used the way it's supposed to be used as a hunting rifle, then you're right. But many abuse this type of rifle.

What's an Assault weapon?
@dalemettee1147 Жыл бұрын
@@NoName-zq6ic So an assault weapon is one designed to kill as many "targets" as possible in a very short amount of time. An example of one is a bump stock attachment to a AR-15 to make it possible to shoot rounds in a like state of a machine gun. The only problem with a weapon like this is that it goes thru a LOT of ammo, a LOT! Thousands of bullets in a very short amount of time. The only thing that slows you down is that the barrel gets VERY hot and could jam.

Daniel, thank you for this video. I have for many years misunderstood AR15s and what they shoot. I have been more concerned about the automatic repeating ability of the AR15, and that it had been designed for use in wars where laying down a steady round of bullets is one way of protecting yourself and those on your side of the conflict. I tend to forget that in the hands of a skilled and sane hunter, only one bullet would be fired at a time. Therefore, until this post, I would have been one of those who would like to ban assault rifles and also thought that using one in hunting would leave you with nothing to eat (if fired on fully automatic settings). Thank you for teaching me the reality of hunting with an AR15. I still would appreciate it if fewer of these guns got into the hands of mentally unstable persons, but I now see that we need to have some serious education before we can find some really effective ways to do that.

I’m proud to have used my granddaddy’s .243 but my dad has one much more powerful. I would have to use my dads if I was to go hunting again. I don’t particularly want to feel the kick but it will also leave a much bigger exit wound whether I’m defending my home or going after food.

My army life was with the SLR (self loading rifle, a 308 bullet). It would go through a 1 foot thick tree and still get your target. The AR 15 are a light weight weapon, to inflict a injury in war that would not so much kill the object, but other members would have to save the person,thus taking personal off the line.

Danial, First, I'm a liberal & a follower of your channel. I follow, not for the animals or because I think you are cute, but because your clips are interesting, your property is beautiful, your values are solid, and your daily life is different from mine. That said this topic is one that I disagreed with, not because you are technically wrong, but because you obfuscated the issue. (Joy is just a comedian btw. ) The gun issue is everyone's "lane". I am not anti gun unless that gun is the weapon-of-choice in the vast majority of mass shootings. We have very good evidence that mass shootings decreased during the 10 yr assault weapon ban, and has skyrocketed once reinstated. So sure mental health is a factor, sure assault weapons are fun to.shoot, but until we are able to achieve the same success at curbing mass shootings as we witnessed under the ban,.. I am not willing to sacrifice our nation's schoolchildren. I appreciated your civility and measured tone in this segment. I greatly appreciate the lack of political controversy in your stories. I enjoy your work and I am happy that my viewership, along with others, allows you to do what you love. It is a big win-win for everyone.
