What I love about this story is how so many people close by helped....between the guy who alerted you to the neighbor down the road that let you use his corrals to the other neighbors to helped out hauling them back. These are the stories we need to hear about more!

Daniel, I loved your talk at the end. My husband and I crave that kind of life. The kind of life where you can count on your family close by, your friends, your neighbors, your community to be there when you need them, and you would do the same. There is no such thing as the perfect place, but there are places in the U.S. that are a lot better than some. I will be honest, the place where we live in California, if something bad were going on in our neighborhood, chances are most of our neighbors wouldn't even step out on their porch to see what was happening let alone come and help. Sad.

As you know when a bull bison wants to go somewhere he goes. I lived in WY for a few years and the rancher just west of us raised Bison. His bison herd were contained in a large area (200 acres as I remember) was surrounded by 2 woven wire fences with steel posts. The inner one was 60 “ and the outward one was 72”. The gates were very stout. They are amazing animals.

Your a great brother-in-law Daniel. Like you said, Families stick together in small towns. I'm originally from back east. Born in Steubenville, Ohio grew up & have lots of family relatives that live in Toronto, Columbus & Wintersville, Ohio, & have relatives right across the Ohio Valley River in Weirton, Wellsburg, Follansbee, & Cross Creek, West Virginia & even in Pittsburgh, PA. All of them once all lived in W.VA but as parents pass away & some cousins get married & move away we all seem to be spread out now. I do notice that as I grew up we all stayed tight & everybody helped one another, went to Church together, ate Sunday dinner together & celebrated HOLIDAYS together. Now I'll be 62 years young (on August 14th) & I can honestly say, when my husband retires, I really would love to move back east to where Im originally from Toronto, Ohio beautiful Country. It's 20 minutes across the river to West Virginia where my other close cousins live. I love the saying, "The family that PRAYS together, stays together" as I find that to be very beautiful & true! I think you live an exciting life & there's always something new to do everyday! Never a dull moment. It's a goid thing you retired early as it seems you are needed! Your a good man Daniel & I love seeing the beauty at your homestead. I never knew Oklahoma is so gorgeous! Thank you once again for the terrific content! Love & Prayers to ALL YOUR FAMILY! ♥️😇♥️

I had one good amazing blessing in a city once. I was newly duvorced, 6 mos pregnant with triplets and had 2 hours to move out of my apartment. I had a uhaul but no licence and my epileptic 3 yo with me. All my Army buddies were on a bivwac so I was without any help. I was literally praying on the side of the road and a bunch of big burly bikers pulled up. After a very brief discussion they got me moved. Cleaned the old apartment. Assembled and unpacked my stuff in the new apartment. Filled my cupboards and fridge and took us for pizza. Those boys checked on us every week for the next 3 years. Took my kids on outings and had my back. God answers prayers! I had 14 young men that made me feel safe and not alone and helped me through a very challenging time in a big scary city .

Thank you for your video on the bison getting out! It reminds me when we were dairy farming and we were woke up with cows mooing in our lawn. We turned on the feeder and herded them back in the barn. Country folk do help each out. We experienced this back in the 70’s when we had a barn fire. It was a Saturday morning and lightening started the barn on fire. We just got the cattle out when the station barn collapsed. Fortunately my husband told me in case of a fire, lock the cows out of the barn so they don’t run back in. The parlor was saved and with the help of neighbors and local businesses, we were able to milk the cows that night. Another farmer took our heifers until we rebuilt. We no longer farm but our heart is still with the farmers! No farmers, no food!
