All of these "weak judge" comments have no idea what she's trying to do. She is giving 0 grounds for a appeal, 0 grounds for a mistrial and 0 grounds for the witness being "unfit" to defend themself. The latter being the most important as he keeps questioning if he's being held in contempt and is wanting to use that as a defense as he knows now that after 13 days of this trial the 2 former matters won't work.
Yes and on top of that she's trying not to give legal advice which could also cause a mistrial. He's really such a clown and I hope there's a way she can bring in a 2nd chair for him (atty to give him legal advice and take over when he gets sent to the bad boy room, partially so she can send him there and the trial can continue) otherwise, I fear this trial is going to take forever and put all the witnesses and jury out and waste their time.

@@chuckmartin6921 There’s a non-obvious reason behind the “mess”, the madness of the judges’ allowance of disruptions from Brooks. The judge is not “weak” as she may appear to be and as I’ve read many comments state of her throughout the trial. She is actually very brilliant in doing what she is doing, remaining calm and patient and allowing the foolishness in the courtroom to not put him in contempt. She’s more than likely thinking of the victims families and everyone else to move the trial along without a mistrial so Brooks can be put where he belongs sooner than later. I know it’s so easy to make judgments than to inquire or question things before making uneducated or knowledgeable comments.

He can't prove them because he never received any letters. It was all a lie. Later in the trial, the prosecution had an offer of proof that the letter in question was actually sent to another party who gave it to his mother. It was never intended to be sent to Brooks. This offer of proof also included the fact that he had made something like 70 attempts to contact Patterson by phone since he was arrested and she didn't accept any of them. Also, during the break, the deputy said Brooks never even went to his cell to look for anything, let alone any letter. So, the whole thing was a lie meant only to further torture Patterson, all because she wouldn't give him money when he demanded it.

And he was all “you’ve clearly never been to jail before” Weird flex but ok? It’s funny though it’s a testament to how narcissists like this really are! They are not usually exposed like this because they are not usually in a cut and dry court room that’s organized like this. Instead of a judge being president, they get to take advantage of people‘s weaknesses by causing them confusion and self-doubt. When it’s isolated like this and you see it, it’s so much easier to realize how ridiculous it is. He’s used to saying “oh you’ve never been in this position before so you’re confused but this is how it is”. Pulling his “mind boggling” routine which is a type of guilt trip like you’re supposed to feel like you’re being completely ridiculous. It’s gross how textbook it is.

"Told me she's 18" that doesn't matter. He wanted to have sex and paid the price. He is not listening to the Judge who is trying to help him to the extent she can. He doesn't even understand "presumed innocent, until proven guilty" so "claim" is the word everyone needs to use until it is proven the witness or whomever is guilty with the evidence. I know there is more involved, but my little bit of understanding is more then his (in this regard), and he's been in jail so time to read law books, etc. Maybe I'm wrong. While I think she's a fantastic judge, I think that's not the only criteria for the SCOTUS.
