I don't know why people get a downer on carp fishing in winter. I had my best haul in mind January 2011. 13 fish in just over 7 hours. They weren't bloomin great hockers, but went from 4lbs -17lbs 9oz. All on 10mm boilies tipped with corn.

Went for the open day at Creedy lakes for my birthday, The carp where everywhere, On the top, stirring the bottom Tried different boilies. Maggots, changing depth even a zig, No one took anything out all day. I did get a pickup. used goo too .

A few good tips,just a small comment in my opinion I can't quite see the need to be dropping the lead in this situation, there are young and inexperienced anglers that hang on your every word and they can't always know when it's advisable to discard the lead, they could be dropping the lead when there's no need to. You must be mindful of context when posting instructional videos, other than that a good little informative video.

Darrell is right you have to check those margins, look for telltale signs on the surface, carefully prepare your bait, choice of weather crucial and then, and then Danny and billy walk over and scare all the fish.
