NickHyphy I think I rather keep them all but decided to just keeps the ones I really love. I just ordered two custom shop guitars that I hope to be my main guitars forever. It took a long time to choose which to order. About a year. In March I get a Hansen T-style and later this year a Tom Anderson strat.

I haven’t tried all that many guitars in my life. I am wondering if you could make some suggestions on what to try. Here is what I prefer... A light guitar that is comfortable to play sitting down and is well balanced (not like a SG). Humbucker. pickups Small fretboard radius like old Teles, Strats and old BC Riches. I find them easier to play and more comfortable to play. Rosewood fretboard High quality tuners (Currently like Grover but open minded) Simple passive electronics with few knobs. Kahler or Floyd Rose tremolo Lower Price is better but would pay a few thousand for the right guitar. I have an American made BC Rich Eagle which I love but I would like a second guitar. It has a chunky neck but I open to trying a thinner neck. Thanks!

What I like about your guitars, Darrell... Is that you play them all! These guys who spend a fortune on a guitar and then never play them... Give me a break! And Darrell, great minds think alike...Love my Teles! Your orange Thinline is sweet! (Though I would send that pickguard packing!). If she was a girl, you and I would have to step outside to settle the issue! By the way...I think between the start and finish of your vid my beard grew two inches.

Having many guitars absolutely made me better faster. When i had one guitar i would practice an hour a day or so. Now that i have six the variety makes me want to play them all everyday so my practice now is between 4-6 hours daily. If i get a couple more i will probably have a guitar hanging from my neck even longer.

And you're Canadian, I spent some early years living there and just love the folks I was involved with for about a year. Love the channel. I don't know where else to make a suggestion but an old post could work: How about a "tour" of your studio? You do a great job, come along way from standing in front of the French doors with a mic, to a pretty slick production imo. The camera work and segues are professional and your set looks very clean and simple. I'd like to see where and how you work to get the sounds and video to work. You're the best influencer I've found and the best part is you're always in tune 👍

I can't stress enough how much I'm looking forward to your Pacifica build. About 5 years ago, I got a used one very cheap and instantly loved the neck. Being surprised by the overall quality for the low price, I thought it would be the occasion to learn about modifications. I had absolutely zero experience in this, so the first few investments did not really make sense. I changed parts several times, brought it to a store to correct my mistakes and was never really happy, still it's my favourite practice guitar - but usually not plugged in. I now have that emotional bond you were talking about in the beginning of your video, so instead of getting a better guitar for the same price right away, I really want to make mine work. I love your videos for the lack of voodoo, meaning that you precisely point out a guitar's weakness, suggest modifications in a reasonable price range and then you show the honest sound comparison. I can already say that your advice on the Pacifica will most certainly have a heavy impact my everyday guitar experience!

Love your channel and watch every single video! I recently got back into guitar after twenty years after putting it down at age 18 after three-and-a-half to four years of playing my first guitar was a Silvertone tobacco sunburst SSS strap copy followed by a Dean Phantom XXL, Washburn Slime Lime DB Darrell guitar, Fender Custom Graffiti Yellow Pro Shop series ( Seymour Duncan Invader pickups), Fender fiberglass custom electric acoustic and after letting go of all those classics for nearly 20 years I now have a Harmony Tabasco sunburst semi Strat style guitar with a custom clamshell string through and locking tuners and a guitar that started out as a HHS squier Affinity series was modded into a Steat nearly an exact copy of the iconic Kurt Cobain's vandalism strat. I've learnt so much from your channel and draw inspiration from daily to continue playing, learning and what you are big on experimenting. I've been an exclusive fender guy for years now despite the gap in playing and love my Stratacasters but have never played a Tele how do the two compare.

Exactly. At some point, it's just plain rude. Rubbing our faces in it...we, the ones who make his wealth of guitars possible! Americans have this weird culture where they're happy to worship their overlords! Like the filthy rich rappers or film stars or pop stars or whatever. They brag and brag and brag about how much they've got, and how much you don't....and it's only because of yours and my patronage! If we stop giving them our attention, they lose all. I'm not from America. I absolutely do not worship those who somehow got themselves an easy ride. And if they are gonna flaunt it, and effectively rub our faces in it, well..... Eff them. EFF Them! 😡 I like Darrell more than most Utubers....but this vulgar display...there really is no excuse. It brings to mind Orwell's Animal Farm...where the pigs are dining an extravagant feast while all the working farmyard animals are left with some out of date scraps between them. "Everybody is equal," says Napoleon (the head Pig), "Just...some are more equal than others!" As he gobbles down a huge drumstick!

Luey Sixty-six people have been asking him to show his guitars. And as someone from America I can tell you that is not true at all. There are some jerks who brag about their stuff and I agree those people are awful but saying it’s our culture is stretching it

@@lueysixty-six7300 If it wasn't for his guitar collection he wouldn't have a KZbin channel... He has worked hard to build up his channel and guitar collection. By showing his collection he is in no way trying to make himself seem better than anyone else. He is simply showing people what he has. Personally, i love these types of videos because I love guitars and think it's great to see a wide variety. You really need to change your attitude and stop being jealous. And yes I am from America and guess how many guitars I have? Probably 1/100 of Darrell's collection and I am by no means butt hurt the way you are.

@@lueysixty-six7300 true, most people will never be able to afford a somewhat 30 piece guitar collection. but nothing about this video strikes me as vulgar, if anything because darrel gives away bunches of his guitars for good causes, so his popularity directly does good in this world. some guy or lady gets a hot meal tonight because a guy has a thing for sharing his love for music and guitars on youtube. i also know absolutely nothing about how and when Darrel got to where he is today but assuming he got it because he got "somehow" an easy ride is guessing at best, and straight up jealousy in worst case. some people work their asses off to get where they are, and are simply more driven to go even further than others. if looking at people who have more then yourself makes you feel the world is "unfair", i suppose it is mate. loads of people have way more than me, and even more have less. i could give away everything i have today, tomorrow it will be forgotten and the world will still be the same, with one extra guy who has nothing. if i continue to strive for success and excellence like i have so far i'm pretty sure many many more people will gain from that and have opportunities for their futures as well. pretty much comes down to "give a man a fish and he can feed his family today, give him a fishing pole and he can feed his family forever". just my 2 cents, we can agree to disagree. my next guitar is gonna be a PRS Mark tremonti, it's going to be the second guitar i will have bought since 1994, the first one being a squier. my cousin played it for years because he didn't have the money to buy his own gear, in the end he smashed it on stage "the who" style. a sad though classic end of a great guitar. i have a love for 3 things in life i don't need, sports cars, guitars, and weirdly, nice watches. i can certainly live my life without any of them, but i will never feel sorry for having any of them. if ever i got to own 30 sports cars, be assured i'll stop working my ass off and start my own youtube channel lol. and i'll throw a few per year for the other farm animals, Darrel style, and hope to see a new vid of him showing us his 300th guitar. because i can watch a guy be succesfull and say; GOOD JOB MATE! YOU MUST BE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT!

Awesome collection Darrell! I'd say the (W)Reck ?, The D'Angelico I didn't win, and I'm a sucker for a Thinline, I have one with Lindy Fralin's steel pole 43's, basically p90s that drop into a teles stock pup routing. Mine are 8.5k neck, and 10k bridge, and an oddity, a stock 24 3/4" Gibson scale neck!!! It sounds so good that when Lindy installed them for me,( friend of 40 years) every one of his employees cane into his office demanding to know what sounded so good! I get Tele twang, and at full volume, a cranked p90 ES!! And here's the crazy part, it's a Squier Classic Vibe, with all vintage wiring, bone nut, Gotoh tuners, CTS pots, and Switchcraft Jack, and switch. Frets redressed, it's a beast. All the work other than the pups was done by a local luthier you should look into, Tom Rodriguez. I'll send you some photos of the '68 big head Strat he built for me, it's the finest instrument I've owned, and I've bought and sold over 100 guitars!!! Sorry so long, but Lindy,IMO makes the finest pickups made, and Tom's Classicals range from $12,500-$25,000, and his electrics are around $4,000 I believe, but he does all the work, one man, one shop, and is an absolute ARTIST. Check out his Facebook page: Tom Rodriguez electric guitars. Peace, Keith

¥our collection have grown so much over the last year. I remember when you were at 40k subs. Love the DBG Tele. This is by far the one I prefer the most in your collection. As for me I have a Schecter and those guitars are wonderful. I was wondering if you could do a series on Floyd rose models, like Jackson, Schecter, Ibanez, or any other brands. I'm looking to buy a Floyd Rose guitar, but I'm not really sure about the model. I saw that you don't owned any Floyd rose guitar at the moment, so It could be a good subject for your channel. Merry Christmas to you and thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.

I watch this video a year late, but when you mentioned that the Pacifica are a bit rare I remembered that the next to/connected to my work rented out a space from us and built a studio for the local music-school where kids of all ages just can book it for a day for free and have fun. From what I understand some of the local music teachers have the same thought as me and a couple of friends that the local music scene is basically dead. They have a couple of squire bass and guitar packs, a couple of pacificas, drums (both acoustic and electric), Roland cubes, and so on.... And then everybodys new best friend appeared last year.
