musically smart kasi si Bebe Darren..mabilis maka pick up ng tunes / notes, proper timing, yung transition to the next chord at makapag memorize...at for me, di lang sa regular na pagsali niya sa mga competitions 'to mai-attribute (although it did help groom him), talagang nasa DUGO niya yan..ika nga INBORN (kasabay na niya ang MIC at well polished VOCAL CORD pagkaluwal sa knya)..lol..meron kasing kahit magaling kumanta pero hindi flexible at hirap sa ibang aspects ng singing..to think na 13yo pa lang, TOO YOUNG YET TOO PROFESSIONAL when it comes to singing..marami pa siyang magagawa at mapapakita as time goes by.. as i've observed esp sa ASAP medyo di pa gaano sanay yung other TVK..minsan nawawala sa tono, nakakalimutan ang lyrics or nawawala sa timing..pero i know in time with proper training and constant practice they'll improve..talented din naman silang tatlo at me kanya kanyang strength..

Ahhh boy oh boy. Darren Espanto you're also perfect for a West side o Broadway theatre production. Now I'm excited on the repertoire your solo concert on Oct 4 @ the Music Museum will consist of. A variety of genre like a March- Bayang Magiliw ?, Pop,Rock, Musical, dance hall etc. The comments will again be "unbelievable", "so controlled", "very mannerly", "phenomenal", "amazing", "total package" "ready", "tao ka ba?" "lahat na lang forte mo", "excellent singer, dancer" and a standing ovation will be given by the audience. Wish I could be there to watch.

I got your point jr27ish.I appreciate your constructive suggestion for Darren.He is a talented kid.I wish he can think of that kind of learning para lalo pa siya mag shine sa pagiging versatile and !I wish he would love too,open minded at obedient naman that kid.I believe also na kaya,kaya niya iyan.Sana magkaroon siya ng mentor to upgrade his singing ability and guide him sa activities schedule niya namamayat na kasi.Sa ngayon for me still he sings very well that amazed me.

I watched this last night on t.v. and i heard Darren went off pitch near the end. He went sharp on the high note near the end. Surprised because he's been hitting high notes before and that was the first time I heard him sablay. Good job on the rest of the song though.

As a fan of Lea, Les Mis and Darren, I'm a sad puppy. I wish they kept the original arrangement sa end. Climax kasi yung second "I dreamed a dream my life could be... so different from this hell I'm living" e... ang ginawa lang nila, pinarehas nila yung delivery sa first part ng chorus. Mas chill inducing sana yung performance kasi nandun sa line na yun mafifeel yung anguish nung character (Fantine). I blame this on the one who arranged this song for star awards though. Siguro para hindi masyadong theatrical ang dating. Darren sang very well, kaso nanghihinayang ako sa lost opportunity na he could've impressed more people, especially musical theatre enthusiasts like me, had they stuck to the original arrangement. Laglag panga na sana lahat ng audience... thanks for the upload.

bobo_aq The first part was ok. It was beautifully sung and the emotion was there. I think, even Lea approved of how the first part was sung (she was smiling and stuff). Yung after nung "storms we cannot weather", dun ako nagkaproblema. Yes, I agree na parang naging pop dahil sa pag-iba ng part na yun. Pati na rin yung mataas na adlib sa end, naka-contribute sa pagiging "pop" ng kanta and the song lost the grief and intensity that it should have been given. But I am willing to give Darren the benefit of the doubt. These kids are coached on how the songs would be expected to be sung on-stage because of the new arrangement. Baka ganyan ang tinuro sa kanya and they went away from the original arrangement para hindi masyadong theatrical ang dating. Parang ginawang pang-concert ba. Still, sana they stuck na lang with original arrangement. Although the adlibs at the end showcased his upper register, it would have been better if his understanding of the song content was showcased more. Nakaka-sad kasi I know he is capable of singing this with the emotions the song required had he been coached better and had they stuck to the original arrangement.

He'll learn more about using vocal dynamics to render various emotions in songs, and he'll also be able to act, dance and sing at the same time. Darren, you're so talented pero this is a character song. feelings or emoting is very important. watch lea when she sangs this song. it's about someone who had lost all hope. So malungkot na kanta sya. halos umiiyak na nga yung lyrics ng kanta na 'to...may part na malungkot at meron din part na parang nagagalit at part na nagdadamdam.. Tsaka yung hand gesture , okay lang kung pop songs pero kapag musical theater number na ganito ang kanta Hindi masyado magalaw ang kamay. I love your version of I believe. Good Luck sa Career.
