He told that he used to hate his self because he is gay, but now his point of view has changed. He realized how nesessary it is to love yourself, whoever you are.

Look at you now Darren. If you wanted a career in music you should have never left Savage Garden, and never come out of the closet. Of course it's your decision to be gay. but it's only the decision of few. Most of the world (your would have been more) fans like me were heartbroken, sigh not surprised, but smh at you none the less. You could have been over the top with your beauty and voice you had. I have a few gay friends and they are beautiful souls but they are not out for a career on the world's stage. Solo you are not. I truly hope that "husband" of yours makes you happy. You do not look happy in this older interview, and you lost that look in your eyes. I will always love Savage Garden. You made 2 big mistakes in your rise to the top imho. Your generation and the decade above you was the main fuel to lift you off, but you didn't use your smarts. Some secrets are best kept. Look at you now.
