My mam used to go to New Monkey and Wigan Pier and I would often see clips of her on the DVDs they used to make at New Monkey when they had the camera going all through the venue throughout the whole night and it looked so good man, even if I wasn’t really /too/ big a fan of the MC and moreso just liked the backing tracks, I’d have still loved to experience it. I am so jealous! I’m 24 now so if only I’d been born even 10 years earlier. 🥲

Darren Styles (2.9.2016): "I wrote this song 11 years ago. I never actually intended to leave my vocals on the track, they were just there as a guide for someone else to sing. I played the track for the first time at HTID / AIR in Birmingham and truthfully the reaction took me by surprise, so i ended up leaving the track as it was. Yeah. Even though people like Darren Styles do still produce "UK Hardcore", it doesn't have the same sound. It ends up just sounding more like "stereotypical EDM but 160-180 bpm and with slightly bassier kicks" like this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaPHZ6WXrLSffdE But nothing close to the huge thumping pounding kicks. Even the synths of modern UK hardcore are pretty much what you'd probably hear in a big room house track.
