A lot of tourists stay in hotel without going out for dinner or just to explore...food at markets is delicious, tasty, cheap and SAFE!!
@darrenb37 жыл бұрын
Yes, I see that a lot too. Two of my friends have had issues with food in SE Asia (one in Malaysia and one in Thailand) and both got sick after eating in their hotel restaurants. I'll have what the locals eat any day!

for sure! Look where the locals are eating. It's also a great way to discover a country, to learn and meet people.

G’Day Darren, Wow all that yummy Thai food for under $5.00 dollars. You definitely have got impressive shopping abilities. My favourite dish in this video was without a shadow of doubt the pork curry with stink beans. I love extremely spicy Thai curries. Thailand is one of the best places on earth to be in for spicy food. Thank you for another fantastic video. A big cheers from Shoalhaven Heads, NSW, Australia 👍🏻 PS I love the new camera work Darren. Next week there will have vegetarian festival in bangkok. Is there the Vegetarian Festival next week at Krabi too? Thank you sir.
@darrenb37 жыл бұрын
Yes, there have been vegetarian food stalls springing up around Krabi for the last few weeks. In Phuket last night I got stuck in a traffic jam in an area with dozens of food stalls and thousands of festival participants. I believe the official start of the festival is October 20 in Krabi and Phuket.

Oi ya daz . Just wondering is the food cold by the time you get home?
@darrenb36 жыл бұрын
Hi Adam. A cold day where I live is 28 degrees Celsius so food doesn't really get "cold" as such, but the temperature depends on the dish and how long before I bought it it was cooked. At markets like that often the foods are kept over a gas stove and served from there. If the dish isn't warm enough for my liking when I get it home I put it in the microwave for a minute or 2.

Hi Darren, I got to point this out. You married an (awesome) Asian lady and live in Asia but yet, you two have maintained an excellent table manners. I mean even you two share a meal as husband and wife, yet you use serving spoon for shared dishes, not poking your own spoon or fork everywhere like in China or Vietnam where they put their chopsticks in their mouth then serve others with those same chopsticks. It's disgusting! Also, I noticed you always eat small amount of food at a time. Very polite/elegant. Not shovel the food in there to the point their eyes rolled backward or eat like they haven't eaten for a month. Understood it's a culture/tradition thing but we live in the 21 century, we need to give up what not good for proper hygiene (ie. we certainly don't want to go back to the cavemen time). Hats off to your family! Ananda certainly have wonderful role models.
