Hey man, it can't be easy putting a video like this up, but I really appreciate it. Bowled like shit the last 5 weeks. Avgerging 3 opens a game. Unacceptable! But I just keep at it. I'm going to get better. You're an amazing pro. Keep your head up. I'm subscribing today. I hope this helps you.

I think it's important, and commendable, when professionals post their struggles. It shows people that even they have bad days. Which has helped me a lot with my anger management. I used to get so pissed at splits and random bullshit but after seeing Darren and others struggle too I no longer get so worked up. Because when I get pissy I bowl bad. Once it happens it's a self feeding cycle.
@dragonman91011 ай бұрын
I agree on the self feeding anger. I just finished another night of my local 3 game league. Last game I had two open frames in the first 5 frames due to splits. But I didn't let it get me down because I was having an overall good night. After changing balls and my target, I got my first strike of that game in the 6th, struck 5 more times in a row, and still shot a 216 that game! That comeback eclipsed my previous high game of my night of 195! Moral of the story: I've been through two league seasons and in both I've learned to control my emotions. Once anger starts, it's not easy to stop.

Anyone can get lost in transition at times. Having the right pieces in the bag can usually bail you out, but most people have a bag full of super strong pieces and then something like this happens. Hustle RIP/M-M could have bailed Darren out for this one.

Couple of weeks ago bowled 5 strikes in a row followed by 5 opens. Where does that magic touch disappear to?
@fracturedraptor784611 ай бұрын
@@daverosinski3663 I question that myself. Had an okay night tonight. Average 190. It's weird because I'll get three or four in a row then I throw the ball it behaves completely different then it has been. I know it's me. Sometimes I get under the ball too much or throw it out too far/little. Still irritating.
@CliftonDon7411 ай бұрын
@daverosinski3663 that's similar to every start of league for me. I start with 5 strikes, then it's followed by either a split or non strike, then I start going through the bag, trying to see which ball I can consistently strike with even though I never miss the pocket with any of them. I usually end the night with 5-6 strikes. It's the middle 20 frames of the night that's the challenge. My average for my nights range from 205 - 230. The nickname I have given myself is "almost good". Out of my 3 game set last week, I rolled 5 splits and converted 2 of them, but made all the makeables.

thanks for posting this Darren. really got me motivated. you're an amazing bowler and you had bad days too. when I bowl and the lane is off (e.g. oil's too thin hence the ball hooked A LOT at the breakpoint) or when my muscle memory suddenly went to shit, i get pissed off and wanted to stop. but this video really opened my eyes that no matter what, we gotta keep moving. we love you man!

Dude, I so feel for you. I have been bowling so consistent lately but the lanes are just not giving me anything. I have be dead flush for an entire game and leave the strangest splits or stone 8s and 9s. It happens. Then I get on a pair and I am so completely lost. I throw one good ball and then the next one just doesn't want to react the same. It has been driving me crazy. I throw a good ball and get bad breaks when the other team misses the pocket completely and strikes. I have been bowling average but it just doesn't feel good if you know what I mean. I just feel like I should be scoring so much higher. I have been chasing 300 all season so far and have come so close at times. I really love your style and your talent. I know we are going to see really big things from you. This is only one tournament, there is always the next one.

It is always interesting to see a glimpse inside the mind of professional athletes when they are struggling to perform at their normal levels. Trying to stay positive on the days where everything just seems off and no matter what you do you can not hit the pocket right and carry a Strike are frustrating. Then the spare game starts to fall apart making matters worse. It really sucks when you know the pair you are on is part of the problem. It is always a fine line of keeping the spirits up and staying positive and exploding in frustrations. Having Friends and Family that help encourage, and you are able to bounce ideas off of are always helpful.

a night of chops and bad breaks. i had that a few weeks ago. i was throwing my best strike shot, absolutely crushing the pocket and driving through the pins. Every frame for 5 in a row left a stone 8 or 9. And i had a bunch of silly spare chops usually the 6/10 chopping the 6 shooting straight from the 1st board (From the left). I mean it was so silly i think it happened 4 times that night? It made me rethink bowling in general which is absolutely hilarious. But its all temporary (usually) and within a few weeks im back to normal. It'll happen again and i'll be laughing when it does. Stick with it D-tang, you got this!
