The solider in the video is SSG Michael Heiber from 101st Airborne 1-32 Cavalry HHT Unit. He is a good friend and great guy. When I met Darryl I told him we were in the same unit and he laugh because SSG Heiber is such a great guy. Thanks Darryl for the advice and help with the Wounded Warriors Unit giving us a concert.

How can we give an artist like Darell what he deserves in the music world?

This song speaks to me! My life has been a roller coaster since 2019 when my husband died suddenly of cancer, and there have been many ups and downs since then but also many blessings along the way. You need to keep your eyes open for the blessings, and know that the tears won't last forever.

I am lucky that I live by Pickwick Lake and I got to see Darryl play at local bars and the Moose lodge in Savannah before he got big in the 90's he is the real deal super nice and super talented.

Darryl Worley is really one of the best ever. He wasn’t at the top as long as others but still had some of the greatest music and messages.

When country music WAS ACTUALLY MUSIC!! Damn, i miss my childhood. Early 2000s was the golden age for country! 2019/20 anyone??
@josephballweg63614 жыл бұрын
I agree completely. Country music has shifted away from actual country music so bad for the past ten years and it sucks. I grew up listening to this kind of music including Brooks and Dunn and I was born in 1986.

Nah, all through the 90s was the "golden era" and it ran through the early 2,000s. After that, they destroyed it.

The vast majority of this video was filmed in my hometown of Springfield, TN. I recognize so much right down to the tobacco barn. Every time I feel homesick I just watch this video.

Saw this guy back in 2010 or 2011 in Memphis Tennessee. I bought him and his wife of beer. They were on a date or I think it might have been their anniversary. At one of the local barbecue places. Nicest guy in the world! Tapped me on the shoulder at least two times to start a conversation with me while he sat next to us. I recognized them and address him by his name and told him I was a huge fan. Super accessible superhuman

Truly beautiful, brings tears to my eyes watching and listening to this song & video. It' encompasses everything most Americans live thru in their lives; a loved one in the war, a wife trying to cure the sins of their husbands, a little too hard drinking to be solved by 'dragging him to church', God bless us all, and God has Blessed Darryl.

SERIOUSLY?? Texas?? They have ALWAYS been the number 1 most proud! I really am shocked!! Has Austin weird taken the state? In now 25+ years around the military and Country, they've been the most loud n proud!! Come to GA/SC!! We've got tons. Texas? I've never met more proud
@spanishinfluenza8 жыл бұрын
Lisa P people think that Texans are all hicks and loud but truth be told everyone in Texas is like everyone else everyone here -excluding me- likes the music which is popular now like rap or pop so yeah Texas is like every other state -we don't have accents like everyone thinks also-

I don't disagree with any comments that I've read. I bet that Josh Turner or Brad Paisley can explain that country always returns to it's roots. Sometimes it has to go through Bakersfield or Austin or some small unknown village in North Korea. Sometimes roller coasters are built that way. I'm even guessing Darryl Worley might be a great college history professor, but I've never heard him interviewed. Be careful with sharing too much info online, but here goes... I'm a left coast elite-ist (born and raised, PhD dropout from the "little" bear college) that's departed father (an Okie that stumbled into California via a military base near Joshua Tree) taught me who the King of Western Swing was long before I could walk, talk, or all those other "Awful Beautiful" things. Sorry for spelling and grammar errors, I got that A in algebra!
