@FOCS274 жыл бұрын
First of all, I love how well this is put together! Secondly, I remember watching The Force Awakens in theatre the day it came out, I absolutey loved it. When I first watched The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker (which was last year) I felt so disappointed and I didn't like the sequels after that. I sat down and binge watched all 11 movies the other week and gave the sequels another go, and now I love them just as much as the original 6. I know Lucas said that the saga is meant to be Anakin's story and even with the sequels it still is. The prequels are Anakin's rise and fall, the originals are his redemption and the sequels are his legacy. However I have always seen each trilogy as a story told from a different view. For me the prequels are Anakin's story, the originals are Luke's story and how he helped his father achieve the goal he was destined to, and the sequels tell the legacy of all our heroes and start a new journey with an entirely new generation. Each trilogy has a different theme too. The prequels show the flaws in the Jedi order and their teachings, the Jedi act more as emotionless machines and are too afraid to give into their emotions in fear that they might turn to the dark side. It also shows that even a prophecy can't tell you how it will be fulfilled and threw a curveball our way. The originals show that even the darkest of people can be redeemed. It also shows that even young people can be destined for whatever they set their heart and mind to (all relations to Vader and the part Luke was born to be in redeeming or killing his father aside) and also proves that the love for your family and friends don't have to be a weakness as the Jedi once thought, if you learn to control it, it can be used as a strength even on the light side. The sequels kinda mirror the originals in a lot of ways, but the main theme they share is that even with how dark your bloodline may be, you can still choose a different path, both Rey and Ben/Kylo show us that. All 9 movies as a whole bring a story of hope to young people and that's all they were ever meant to be regardless of where you stand within the fandom. I originally hated Luke's portrail in TLJ but the more I've thought about it, it's more than likely his dark side bloodline that made him attempt to murder Ben, even though he was strong in the light side and seemed hopeful, even the brightest sparks can go dull over time. He had a moment of weakness and gave into what he thought was right at that time, but he snapped out of it, even if it was too late. If you read the comics it was retconed that Snoke/Palpatine had been messing with poor Ben's head for a long time before then anyway, so his journey to the dark side was inevitable regardless of whether Luke showed up in his room with a lightsaber or not. Anyways, I hope we can all agree that Star Wars is awesome wherever you stand in the Saga. Sorry for the essay, I've had a lot of personal thoughts I just wanted to get out.

"I wasn't strong enough to save you, mom. But I promise, I won't fail again." Everyone acts like Anakin's transformation was unconvincing or rushed, but you can see it throughout the entire trilogy. All he wants to do is protect people and that's ultimately his downfall, and then his salvation

I really dont know why people hates prequel so much. When i watched this i understand that whithout prequels the story would be empty. Amazing video 🔥
@TheSEAempire4 жыл бұрын
XD i mean they do fill in gaps and stuff and contribute cool lore stuff, but when it comes to being good movies, (with the exception of revenge of the sith) they fail. I love the prequels regardless of flaws, but as a film fan I also have to understand that they are the worst star wars movies by far.
@ImDeluxeSP33some4 жыл бұрын
Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones are frustrating movies that I forgive because of how much else we got out of it. I love the art style, the new lore, how it opened up the universe into something ginormous and creative. Revenge of the Sith did this the best AND I think turned out to be a good movie. I love how we expansive clone wars content and video games from the prequels and how it opened up a lot of the mythos and yes even grandoise political story telling that I can really be imaginative with. I think they got the big picture right, how the tragedy of Anakin/Vader, the republic, and how the clones were used. I think people had another space-team-group adventure in mind like the original trilogy, which is easier to tell a story from, but we got something much greater to tackle and it paid off even if 1 and 2 were rough movies. The Force Awakens I think is a good movie too, much better paced, acted, and consistent then most of the prequels movie content. Just pretty entertaining and puts a smile on my face. It didn't do much at all for the world of star wars for me personally, but I still have fun with it while forgiving its unoriginality and lack of creativity since it serves a soft reboot kind of. The two sequels after it though... I could see what they were doing but god did they need a better vision. Last Jedi incorporated new things but disregarded a ton of things to surprise us. Pretty artistic and risky movie I can appreciate, like I see why it's critically positive, but as a star wars entry I couldn't be more disappointed. Now Rise of Skywalker cemented that they didn't have a proper vision and was just so much star wars tropes packed into one breakneck speed movie which had similar fun TFA moments which I did enjoy, but looking back did not conclude anything meaningful because of how rushed it seemed in wanting to counter TLJ AND be a finale. The sequels were better movies from a movie standpoint I think, but the older TLJ and TROS get with memory the more I'm beginning to think the prequels are better. I already full heartedly think the prequels were better star wars contributions already, but now im even bordering on thinking thet they're better movies as the days pass though lol.
