Dartmoor...An UNEXPECTED delight!! Devon Part 3.

Part 3. We've heard a lot about Dartmoor and the intolerance to touring and parking overnight. This is always the case throughout England and as photographers, a very challenging situation. We thank everyone who supports the channel, who encourages our photography, but most of all, who just like joining us on the road!

We absolutely adore Dartmoor!!! Devon is heaven. ❤ Ian is a fan of your focus on picking up rubbish and discouraging littering! He actually gets very frustrated driving the tiny roads of Dartmoor. I don't think either of us have the nerves to drive those roads in something as big as Freddie! 😆

Hi Dara, hope you're well! Yep, the world sadly has too much litter, all of which seems to be dumped in the countryside...such a shame! Haha, you'd be fine driving around in a van lol, especially after all that training in the Cotswolds and those big tanks you drive in America👍😁👍🇺🇸💙❤️

Lovely Dartmoor full of beauty and many surprises. You captured some super filming ( especially liked the black / white pictures ). Another great video guys. Spectacular scenery, some great black and white images, Carol and I both thought the black and white image of the pony's head and neck was a pencil/ pen and ink drawing, fantastic! Definitely a business opportunity there Tony, I've got some rocks in the garden, we could soon scatter them in a field somewhere I'm sure. If you and Claire take care of the photography, Carol and I can sell hot dogs and toasties out of our van👍😂😂. Looking forward to the next episode 🙂👍

Nearly caught up (I think) . We have a photograph of us sat on that self same bridge in 1971 , just after we were married and I was stationed at Plaisterdown camp near Tavistock . This is what I like about watching these vlogs , they bring back lovely memories .

I thought that it was illegal to camp in Dartmoor now ?

Hi Steve. I don't think the rule for overnight camping in a campervan/motorhome has ever been legalised in any part of England unless granted on private land. There was a grey area for 'wild camping' on Dartmoor that has recently been to court, however, that was in respect to backpackers and tents. I believe that the outcome is that certain areas of Dartmoor will be made available for wild camping in tents, but off grid overnight parking will not be permitted. Such a shame!

@@adventurevanfreddie Found this :- The High Court declared on 13 January 2023 that that Section 10(1) of the Dartmoor Commons Act 1985 does not confer on the public any right to pitch tents or otherwise make camp overnight on the Dartmoor Commons. I won't tell them you were there, if you don't.
