I'm just an American wishing to congratulate all of these new sailors joining the Royal Navy. My dream is to join the Navy as well, hope to meet you all out at sea. Much love 🇺🇸 🤝 🇬🇧

Try to spot our Blame Billy! I am so proud of him! After many weeks of hard labour, these men and women finally walk up the steps of the Dartmouth Britannia Royal Naval College and become Royal Navy Officers. Also a very touching speech by the Second Sea Lord! I thought I would start my first naval video the right way, as I live in the heart of the Royal Navy, do expect to see tanks but also naval content! I sincerely hope you enjoy this video!

@RitaGamer5 жыл бұрын
@@OzDeaDMeaT Blame Billy has been a member of the WoT community for quite some time, he is a friend of mine, Jingles and Circon and has done a lot of work for the CIRC clan in WoT in the past. He's an extremely intelligent fella that can fluently talk multiple languages and even read hieroglyphs, on his way to becoming a Submariner! Oh and forgot, he's everyone's Scapegoat!

Academy uniforms remind me of British uniforms from Sink the Bismarck or The Longest Day. Gotta love tradition
@jensonkiin36785 жыл бұрын
BRNC doesn't have an 'academy uniform' so to speak. All uniforms worn, be it the daily working dress or the No.1 dress uniforms are the same as the wider navy. All Officer Cadets wear the dress uniform of a Midshipman (the first commisioned rank) with white tabs on the arms until their pass out parade for which they are removed. Those who have come from the non-commissoned rates (known as Upper-Yardmen) will pass out with rank of Sub-Lieutenant.

why are there subbies and two ringers in rank and file? different joining quals?, and are female master at arms, called mistress?
@iainstewart98445 ай бұрын
Dartmouth is where junior officers START their training. Graduates, doctors, nurses etc enter with seniority according to their experience hence one and two ringers in the same squad. Their course will probably be about 12 weeks and there is little time for Parade Training. In the old days much more time devoted to initial training there. Cost cutting hit all the Armed Forces and, in 2019, parts of the College were too dangerous to enter.

It worries me that although the RN may be growing "in terms of tonnage" it is declining in terms of numbers of combatants and in terms of combat effectiveness.

There was one young lady, I believe she was passing out as surgeon lieutenant-commander, does anyone know how you can pass out at that high of a rank? Édit: commander -> lieutenant-commander
@carmina7764 жыл бұрын
Fully qualified doctors become medical officers in the British Armed Forces and pass out in all of the services at the nato rank of OF-2 or higher depending on their medical experience and qualifications. I presume the young lady was either a fully qualified GP or a registrar in a hospital speciality to have passed out at OF-3.
@jayyorke-wade58443 жыл бұрын
That's the way these parades should be done - with Auld Lang Syne at the end. The Royal Air Force do the same thing with a march up the steps and Auld Lang Syne too. So does Army officer training at Sandhurst College.

Officer Cadets from the Royal Fleet Auxiliary attend BRNC for a few weeks and pass out alongside Officer Cadets from the Royal Navy; those joining the RFA do not carry swords as they are a civilian organisation within the MoD. The rest will be cadets still undergoing training at the College
