It's nice that they improved it so much. For what its doing its pretty great. I gravitate towards the Stryfe-X because its single fire is more responsive, but its a great alternative for those who want select fire.

You hit the nail on the head with the expectations. I too was one of those who expected probabably too much, which led to my disappointment with the gen 2. Putting those expectations aside, for a full auto half dart blaster at $90 it does that part well.

Thank you Xavier for addressing the expectation many should've had. I've seen too many people sharing their disappointments about the Omnia not being "pro-grade" while it's clearly in the max line. DZ likely noticed the Omnia wouldn't meet pro standards so perhaps that's why it's in the max line. Other arguments I've seen about the delay being unpractical are true however, the blaster technically works as advertised since crisp response time isn't advertised. On paper I still believe the Omnia is of great value past it's flaws and impracticality in a tournament setting. Out in the park where the stakes are non existent, the Omnia is a great blaster.

I was burned on the first release returned and ordered the 2nd gen on black friday $60 deal. For the price I rhink its great ...but again expectations I would really like to see an evolution of the MK3 with a slimmer body, select fire, no trigger delay, and variable fps control. I know it would have a much higher price tag, but its what I really want

Thanks Cap'n for another well produced and balanced review/demo, of a really nice beginner super stock blaster. I personally prefer the Stryfe-X in this category but at $30 cheaper the Omnia is a very close second in my opinion, especially with the select fire feature that the Stryfe-X doesn't have. I feel like both are welcome additions to the hobby and a great electric option for 150fps(ish) games. Nice to see companies competing with decent products for us all to enjoy and help spread the hobby to a wider audience.

I feel like some of the disappointment for me was also from their letter about the recall. They were ambiguous about what issues were being fixed so my mind went to "they are fixing ALL the issues we had with the blaster" which obviously wasn't the case. If the Gen 1 worked right off, I think the disappointment would have been less, especially with it being closer to the Stryfe X launch then.

Once I get one of these I'm going to design a replacement pusher wheel with two tabs. The stock wheel uses a screw sticking out the top (side?) Of it to press the rotation control switch. I would also assume you could put a mosfet on the pusher motor and upgrade it to something like a Fang motor to get even faster response times and RoF

Great video! The only real appeal to me is the burst fire. Snagging an MK3 for $30 makes it hard to justify buying this one. I’ll snag this on next year’s sales for sure.

I only use my Omnia in full auto, easily snap off single shots, short round bursts and spray and pray! My biggest gripe was how inaccurate the first Gen was which I corrected with tiny o-rings on the front 2 posts the cage sits on. Got a replacement Gen2 (thanks DZ) and can now dual wield lol.

Captain, your point about this being a super stock line it is fairly easy to convert to HVZ levels and standard Hasbro blasters are if you find the correct one which suits your play style, perfect sidearms because of the inherently lower FPS. The nexus pro has one of the smoothest Priming systems I’ve ever experienced on any blaster including my Jurassic pro which has a direct prime seeing as it is connected to the pusher directly being bolt action. Sidenote, do you know of a kit for the retaliator which gives it slam fire and on a scale of 1 to 10 how easy would it be to convert the nexus pro to lever action, I have an idea of how to do it just want to know if I actually should do it, because with the mods I have, which is just a spring replacement it’s a pump, action rifle.

I love both my Omnias (the original oops and the replacement) and two-fist them. An adjustable red-dot on the pic rail corrects the trajectory error of the first batch, and there is even an inexpensive one on Amazon that’s anodized red. With it I can practically shoot the head off a bee at 30 yards using the misaligned first Omnia. I know that Nerf has attempted off-the-shelf full auto in the past, but one needs at least 5-7 darts per/sec to replicate the feeling of a machine gun. So, with that qualification in mind, is the Omnia the very first off-the-shelf, sold in major stores, no modding required, foam dart machine gun?

I tried using the battery on my Worker Nightingale. The connection fit but I guess a Lithium Ion battery isn’t powerful enough to make it work

It didn't charge with my lipo charger. It does hit a bit harder with a 2s, still waiting for my gen2 replacement tho. Got gen1 from Walmart & its terribly inaccurate

@@CaptainXavier , I did notice if you connect the battery to the blaster after charging a while it registers if it's charged or not when you reconnect the charger. Maybe the circuit in the battery?

Always love watching your reviews! In your opinion, how does the Omnia compare to the Stryfe-X (which at the moment seems like its most direct 2nd-party competitor)? My feeling is that the Stryfe-X seems like a more refined, snappier, responsive product, whereas the Omnia has more functionality at a lower cost, at perhaps the expense of some refinement and responsiveness. (Unfortunately, as far as I know, the Stryfe-X is not available in Europe, so I will probably not be able to answer that question with first-hand experience anytime soon). Would love to hear your opinion on that! Either way, more competition in the arena should be good for consumers. Would like to see if there's any response from Nerf (Stampede-X or Rapidstrike-X plz.....)

In my opinion (for what its worth) they can not be compared. Or at least they should not be compared. Because the Stryfe X IS a Pro blaster. It is advertised as one, and it is engineered as one. It costs more despite having fewer features because it is a superior quality blaster. It is more accurate, has far better trigger response, and has a better battery.

I'm fond of the theory that the slower rotation on Single and burst is to control the landing point of the pusher instead of using motor breaking. There is a switch that is depressed to stop the wheel. Actually, that might be doing a very short motor break.

Could a cage and wheel change increase and decrease the performance and is it relatively easy to do compared to 9ther flywheelers??? In the uk 150-160fps is kinda useless. Most games are either 130 or 200+. If i could mod it to have a swappable cage to make it sub130 or around 180-200 I wpuld be super interested in getting my hands one one.

I was disappointed with the Gen 2 semi-auto it's not as Snappy as my Strife X. However I understand it it's because of the mechanical versus electric and also the style Pusher versus a wheel pusher. I'm happy with the Omnia Gen 2 full auto which is probably what I'll use it for now that I'm buying Koda mags for it. I still prefer The Strife x for semi-auto

As well you should. The only blaster that I have that beats the Stryfe X for semi-auto is my semi-auto FDL-3. The Stryfe X IS a Pro level blaster and it shows. Have you done my trigger/pusher fix on your Stryfe X?

@benlosi not an issue, exactly. But if you remove the tension spring on the pusher arm and instead upgrade/double the compression spring behind the trigger, it becomes even snappier!

@@benlosi I just doubled the stock spring with one from my spring bin. You could probably use the spring from a retractable pen.

I'm curious why a 3s will smoke the board on the Omnia while the Stryfe X requires it and MK3 easily takes 3s. I have been using a 3s with xt30 on it for kicks and it runs really naturally for a lack of a better word. With 3s I have essentially no lag, the burst is sweet, it hits harder, and the full auto is a hose. It almost feels like it was made for 3s but downgraded to be more of a toy, but if this will smoke the board I'd at least want to know thar I'm playing the lottery. I might still risk it because it's so Flippin cool but I'd love to understand why I'm risking my blaster but not my MK3

You can run any electronic device on a higher voltage...for a while. But over-volting WILL lower the life. I don't know by how much. I am really curious how long yours lasts. Maybe you got lucky, maybe the folks who have said theirs burned up were unlucky. Maybe only Gen1 get smoked. They might have fixed that also with Gen2. Thanks for the feed back!

I know the new version has a 10a switch, would that make a difference? If something burns out on me is it fixable or would the blaster become trash? No worries if you don't know or don't have time I was so impressed with the 3s performance that it might compel me to try hard mods

@anthonytrussoni9926 I have no idea. It comes down to what protections/upgrades they made to the control board. If it can take a 3s we are golden. If it can not then we are toast. If that board burns up there is no fixing it (other than replacing it with and Narfduino). Worst case the board smokes and you rewire it for full auto only.

Thank you. You are very helpful. If my worst case is still getting my insane 3s performance but losing semi and burst I feel like I'd take the broken with 3s over the working with 2s. I'm sure that doesn't guarantee the motors will stay but still. I appreciate your patience to explain this

I can wire up a better semi auto blaster for cheaper than the stryfe x and tbh semi auto has completely bored me. I want fulla auto all the time but that said i still dont like not completely fixing 2 of the firing options. It still has the slight smell of a do not buy blaster to me.

Not to be annoying but it's a pro blaster you are correct when say max because it is a max blaster but looking at the blaster it says omnia pro

Yes, it has Pro in the name. But it is not part of the Dart Zone Pro series. The Pro line includes the Mk1, Mk1.1, Mk1.2, Mk2, Mk2.1, Mk3, and Mk4. Those are their "Pro" blasters. I agree that putting "Pro" in the name is confusing.
