I saw Billy Cobham live about a year ago, it's so easy to find similarities of the playing of Simon Phillips. The left hand lead groove, eyes closed, drummer feeling the music he's playing. Absolutely superb!

I also like that they range in age from 20s to 60s and what matters most is the music. That's the way music should be at this point instead of feeding into 'generational divides'

I heard Darwin for the first time last night, and ordered the CD "Five Steps On The Sun" today. "Be That Man" is progressive enough to be interesting but still feels like music. On another track I found myself thinking about how music connects people. I woke up thinking: wow, listening to those Darwin songs on KZbin last night left me with the feeling of having been on a journey. So I was glad to discover i could still get a copy of the "Five Steps On The Sun" album.

God that was cool. To borrow a David Letterman quote (after witnessing White Zombie live). I actually saw Simon Phillips' name and immediately clicked. This was so bad-ass.
