She is definitely in the artist category ; not just the voice and musical talent , but her writings are deep and socially meaningful . She truly was a starving artist living in her car before fame came , and is therefore definitely in touch with the 'common man' . Yes, she is amazing. I've always heard the purity and innocence in her voice in all of her music. But, this makes it obvious to everyone. Jewel is a classically trained singer from a very well known school in Michigan. She dropped out of the program to fulfill her own musical ambitions. I love her and always have!
