Very nice gun. I personally would stick with the plastic barrel. I found the metal one disappointing. The bore depth is too shallow and no breach. Those two things killed it for me. To each their own. I really liked how they did the tires. Very clever which gives nice deep tread. It would've been above board if they were slightly weight on. Still very nice as is.

Yeah they made that metal barrel really nice on the outside, but then they didn't drill it out? That makes no sense, what a let down for an "upgrade" piece.

Yay, a non-German subject!! 👍 Nice "FirestoneR" tires on the box art (and actual part). 😜 Edit: that looks like a great kit, with well thought out engineering. The stacked tire design is a fantastic alternative to vinyl or resin tires. The only improvement they should have made would be to have milled out the breech block area, so it could be displayed in open position.

nice kit but Das Werk need to drill their metal barrels deeper than they currently are. Same issue with the 16th Panzer 3

The spade at the end of the trail is part of the recoil mitigation system, digging in and transferring force into the ground. The only reason to stack sandbags under the trail is if someon needs to pull maintenance on the spade for some reason in a manner that requires access to the underside of the trail / spade.

Hi Andy! Enjoyed the Build as always! Andy- we noticed you’re using Tamiya’s Lacquer Olive Drab- also noticed in a store video that your Tamiya Acrylic Paints are showing gaps in supply: Could you Please tell us in your next video what’s happened to Tamiya Acrylic paints (in particular)- Olive Drab is is impossible to find- prices like gold on-line. When can we in USA expect Tamiya Paints to arrive again?? You got me (and thousands more) hooked on Tamiya’s paints for very good reason for airbrushing: I have FOUR kits that need olive drab in my stash now- Mr. Hobby, Revell- no olive drab acrylics around us either- Many of us don’t have spray booths with vent fans- hence- acrylic (and frankly- I prefer it- easier clean up, easier weathering- Thanks Again Andy! News would be appreciated: local hobby stores have no clue on arrival in Detroit Area: and modelers bummed out- need olive drab to paint your 1:16 Easy 8! Cheers Andy & Thanks Again-

Thanks for sharing. It gives me some good ideas for a diorama of the ANZAC campaign at Gallipoli in 1915 - if I can find the right howitzers for that period.

I wish Das Werk would include an instruction sheet with the call out for where the upgrade parts go. They kind of leave it up to the modeler to figure out. You almost missed installing that gun brace and you are an experienced modeler

Lovely model... I'll be purchasing ine forthwith. As noted elsewhere, the spade absorbs a significant amount of the recoil forces. The little sandbag wall would be torn apart after the first round.

Strange how a company as fine as Das Werk would offer a metal barrel upgrade without boring out the butt end so the breach can be displayed in the open position. Great looking kit otherwise.

I wonder if the Ammo Boxes should be in what looks like an ammo bunker? Might be nice to put them in there and perhaps pile the used ammo in the corner out of the way. Very nice diorama.

Thank you for everything you put up on the channel! Started building military models again for the first time in 20-odd years and it's great to see these builds. I wanted to ask if you (or anyone) had videos they recommend for learning to use an airbrush? I've painted wargaming miniatures at a really high level for years, I'm super comfortable and confident with a brush, but I've literally never touched an airbrush and feel a bit intimidated, it's been a long time since I've learned a new hobby skill.

I have never built a artillery piece that didn't end up in the parts bin, they have to be one of the hardest 1/35 models made. I truly believe the manufacturers go out of their way to confuse you.
