Asaveri is so ancient that is resembles Komal Asavari and Asa Todi of Hindustani classical Music . It is considered in carnatic music as the Janya of 8th Melakarta Hanumatodi. It is in janya scale, as it does not have all the seven swaras (musical notes) in the ascending scale, and has a vakra swora in the descending scale; ie. does not contain Gandharam and Nishadam in the ascending scale! ...see the scale..S R₁ M₁ P D₁ S / S N₂ S P D₁ M₁ P R₂ G₂ R₁ S. Apart from this one- 'dasarada nandana a daanava mardana'/ThyagarajaSwamy, other popular krities are - 'Saranam saranam'/ Periyasaamy Thooran; 'Chandram bhajamanasa', as well as 'Kumaraswaminam by Muthuswami /Muthuswamy Dikshitar; 'KadaikkanaAl irangip-paar ayyaa'/Arunachala kavi and 'Ramachandrulu Napai' by Bhadrachala Ramadasu; ...of course another two Thyagaraja krities too..."raaraa maayinti daaka raghuvera sukumaara mrokkeraa' and 'maapaala velasi ika mamu brovaga raada 'as well! Here the ''dasarada nandana a daanava mardana'/' is presented very melodiously by Abhishek Raghuram ...Maintained the slow pace still ensuring the eloquence as entailed by the composition. with class tone n diction. Sung Charanams 1,4 and 7..Good recital....Best wishes...
