I also immediately thought of the time signature when I heard this song. Still, what I find unsettling is that you suggest focusing on the lyrics is 'not taking the music seriously.' The lyrics in any vocal music are authentic forms of expression and are vital to the song's artistic value as a whole.

i find it unsettling that whereas most people instantly listen to this incredible tune by dashboard and think of the lyrics, the first thought that came to my head when i got this album was "no way! a pop song in 5/4!?!!" i think its time to take music less seriously!

sorry, i meant it was unsettling that i totally ignored the lyrics and was immediately drawn to the time signature...which is ironic because dashboard are pretty much all about the lyrics sorry for the misunderstanding
