I came almost to a complete stop yesterday on the highway. Hardly any traffic, two lanes on either side of the median, plenty of visibility ahead. And yet, this dyckhead with halogen headlights has to drive 2 feet off my bumper in a 65 mph zone! I waited until there was a good mile of clear view and took my foot off the gas. I was going 15 mph when he finally went around me. I sped back up to 65 and watched him haul ass to the next person and park 2 feet off their bumper. Clearly, tailgaters are just too stupid to drive.

I was on I95 in Maine the other day with my cruise set at 75 (5 over). I am routinely passed by people doing 80 or more. In fact, I am passed far more than I pass. On one stretch, a Hyundai Santa Fe went by me that had to be doing 90 plus. It took a few miles, but I eventually passed him as he talked with the State Police. First time in a long time I have actually seen someone stopped.

Each time those bubblegum machines light up, I keep hearing the theme to DRAGNET. It never gets tiring. When you meet any emergency vehicle with their lights on, get over. SLOW DOWN, and turn on your hazard lights. They will love you for it. I spied one wahhambulance coming up behind a tree trimmer with a (UNSECURED LOAD!) trailer full of brush. I blipped my high beams to get his attention, then pointed behind him. He got the idea and pulled over in a timely manner.

Left lane hogging is the source of 90% of traffic in my experience. There's always someone slow at the very front of the left lane if you can ever make it up there. If you're not passing traffic in the left lane then get out of it.
