It's strange I've literally the other day started thinking " how can I start to think in Chinese"! I'm 2400 words into my anki I can read simple stuff(reading Jeff peppers journey to the west series), but I still can't think of 我 like I think of "I" or "me". When I realised this I was like wow this is a huge problem and is holding me back. I just started to think what comes into my mind when I think of me, this, he, that, there, and then try to like replace the English words with the Chinese and that seems to feel right but not sure how I can proceed. But I feel now I have noticed this I can start improving. I think watching natives speak help because then you can see how the thoughts and words flow, not just like a symbol system for translation which I seem to have developed. Like when I read I'm reading like without accessing all the emotions and imagination that I would if I read English. I think having the vocabulary I have Is great because I can now start practicing it and doing things like writing thoughts down and practicing trying to think with Chinese and make it more of a real communication system
