We saw them as opener before Nightwish in Vienna Dec.22. After their fantastic show we buyed tickets for their own show in Vienna Feb.23. It was awsome - they are live extremly good, all their songs are so catchy!

i discovered this band like 2 months ago, i completely love their music. First time i heard this music i got a feeling i cannot explain. The story and the music are perfect. the synths in the intro. I showed it to my dad and he loved it too. We hear it a lot and jam to hit sometimes. Greetings from Portugal!

I've discovered them just at about the same time lol, KZbin fed it to me as I was letting it run in the background while gaming. The whole album played and on the very last track I went like wait a minute, that is MJ! And so yeah, been looking for their stuff ever since, they are so good! Yannis's voice is, to me, what brings it all together so well!

Reminds you of Battle Beast? Yeah, Anton was also a founding member of Battle Beast but left/was kicked out because of artistic disagreements and after parting ways with his former band he founded Beast in Black - Funny thing about these guys is that earlier this year I randomly bumped into Anton & Giannis on the same day but in different parts of Helsinki. I exchanged a few words with Anton and he seemed like a cool guy. Giannis just walked right past me on the street in his black leather jacket and I only realized it was him when he was already about 20m away and I didn't want to make a scene by running after him and asking for a permission to take a selfie with him..

@@DashyAndDadReacts Anton was the BACKUP singer in Battle Beast. Nitte Valo was the original singer then she was replaced with Noora Louhimo. But Anton was never the main singer, Battle Beast always had female leads on vocals. He was however, the lead guitarist and song writer when he was in that band.

You know what's even crazier to me is that a lot of European metal bands have pretty fantastic lyrics and it's normally in their second language. English is actually a pretty complex language with a lot of grammar rules. It's really impressive.

My theory is that lots of these bands still think in their native language and then translate it to English, resulting in them then having to use rarer words and tweaking the English structure a bit to make the translation match with the original thoughts, creating lines that are more poetic. Like for example the lyricist of BiB is Finnish, and if you start to literally translate Finnish into English it very quickly starts sounding like amateur poetry.

Great reaction! I had a similar experience at NW in Hamburg, Germany last Monday. Became an instant BiB fan seeing them live. Back home the next day I bought a ticket for their 2023 tour as well as all (3) CDs, because I am still a sucker physical media.

Funny you'd bring in "Blade runner" as it is the title of the first song the album this track came from! You are correct, but I would say appointment is the actual definition, one would say : _J'ai un rendez-vous chez le médecin._ Which could translate to: I have an appointment to the doc. But as you said, you could also say "I'm going to meet up with the doc" And, I always assumed the guys chasing the girls are also androids. If you refer back to the text at the beginning, it said something like "the 4th generation is hunting the 3rd generation"

10:52 rendezvous in English = to meet at an agreed upon time and place. rendezvous in French = Meeting place or Appointment. Additionally, originally back in the 1500s rendezvous meant a gathering place for military troops and the term is still apparently in use in French-speaking military tactics circles. Google was very helpful here and it was a bit of an interesting little jaunt. I knew the English meaning but I never considered the literal French meaning of it.

OMG, so glad you did this one! That android looks like the spitting image of my little sister who'll also be there this Sunday at the Ziggo Dome Nightwish concert in Amsterdam! Now I really have to keep an eye on these blokes to decide who is and who isn't a blade runner! For sure we will sing along with "Die By The Blade" if that's on their setlist. And yes Dashy, Yannis really has a feminine quality to his voice and funny you'd think abt Floor. He did an amazing cover of "Ghost Love Score". Check it out! The first song on the album is even called 'Blade Runner' and its direct homage to movies and books that is based on. Their other songs that i like are "Blind and Frozen" and "Crazy, Mad, Insane". Its euro-pop-metal and its awesome. Overall all their songs are just fun and relaxing and band does not treat itself too seriously. ;)

Beast in Black are very good, lots of influences from 80's metal and pop and also the occasional tune of Nightwish you can hear, which is one of the favourite bands of some of the members (lucky them, getting to tour with NW as well). They perfectly walk that fine line where they don't take themselves too seriously, but they also don't turn their music into a joke, like many other bands do.

Well, sort of. This song is actually based on an anime called Armitage III (the opening monologue is audio sampled directly from the show), although Armitage III seems to have been inspired by Blade Runner. There's some argument about that, though.
