We Angelina angels (fans) never tire of watching people reacting to her for the first time. She was around her 9th birthday for this performance and she created the arrangement as she always does. Angelina is 16 now and her family is very wise and loving to not have Republic Records promote her yet. Please read the biography I compiled for my all time favorite musical artist. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on KZbin. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. *Why Angelina always performs barefoot* At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on KZbin went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14. At age 9, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs. At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a KZbin video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances. When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident. Also at age 11, Angelina recorded her “It’s Magic” album which has, at times, been in the top 10 best selling jazz albums. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on KZbin. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On KZbin, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her. During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one. Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song. Angelina has posted numerous short performances on Tik Tok and Instagram. Angelina had concerts in Norway in July 2022. Personally, Angelina as a great human being and her music came into my life when I needed it most. Her music has improved the quality of my life more than I can express. I now introduce her to as many people as I can, with the hope her music will do the same for others. We know once her family believes the time is right and allows Republic Records to fully promote her, she will become the superstar she has always dreamt and believed she would be. I encourage others to use this biography to help educate others about the love, empathy, magic and beauty that is Angelina Jordan Astar and her unique music

Ah that was great fun to watch, you two! She is nine here and did her own arrangement of this song and does most of the arrangements for her covers. She watched Screamin' Jay Hawkins (face on candle at the beginning) doing his own song many years ago and she loved it and wanted to do her own version. His version is here in KZbin so you can watch it if you like. She has a huge following and is now 16, turning 17 on January 10, 2023. She won Norway's Got Talent when she was 7-8 years old and became an internet sensation. There is a video that has all four songs she sang for that. It is an amazing thing watching her at 7 years old singing Billie Holliday. If you are going to watch that video make sure you get the one with translations .. cause even though she sings in English on all songs it's nice to understand what the judges are saying. I highly recommend this video. Angelina has over 200 videos on KZbin now. Mostly covers, some interviews and five original songs: "What is Life?", her very first original .. charming and dear; "Oslo", about her home town in Norway; "Shield", an homage to her family, who is extraordinary and protect her always (I hear it as a hymn myself); "Million MIles" which she wrote about her grandfather who died and was her first video after signing with Republic Records .. it was at the first part of covid and she Said this song was for anyone who had ever lost a loved one .. and then there's "7th Heaven" a jazzy and lovely song with some positive ideas on life. You will hear a LOT from the Angels (that is her devoted fans .. we call ourselves Angels) about her amazing generosity and her kindness and also about her great family. Right now I have to stop .. but I feel sure you will be told many stories about her as well as given recommendations for songs to listen to together. I must have heard Angelina sing her arrangement of "A Spell on You" 100 times and still enjoy watching new reactions to her went she was 9 yrs old. Angelina is a Norwegian Jazz singer who was discovered went she was 7 yrs old on the "Norway Got Talent Show 2014'" which she won, turning 8 yrs old. Angelina sang 4 Jazz songs; you both have to watch her unbelievable performance before going on to her current music; now she is 16 yrs old and has a record contract with "Republic Records. Warring when you fall into Angelina's "Rabbit Hole," there is no way out; enjoy the ride along with her Fans she calls "Angels."

Angelina has a very protective family support and her uncle is her manager and Angelina’s grandma is always with Angelina when she is recording in the studio and Angelina’s parents have allowed her to progress slowly and her education has priority! Oh boy, you are going to be bombarded by her fans called Angels that will fill you in on this music prodigy with an old soul from Norway. She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Her early influences are Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, and Etta James to name a few. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. She entered and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, " Wow, what a rendition!" Not only that, but she received the copyrights for her version of this song from Queen, which makes it hers now. She did not win, but her fan base grew and expanded her popularity. Now 16 years old, living in Los Angeles, and is signed with Republic Records, whose clients include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and Drake to name a few. Her family and Republic Records have agreed not to heavily promote her just yet so she can live as normal of a life as possible and finish her schooling. She is working on a new album of original music which will be coming out next year. She recently returned back to Norway and performed at a number of sold out concerts in which fans from around the world came to see her. Many of the fans there said she sounded better live in person and was a once in a lifetime experience. Her fans call her The Barefoot Princess. She always performs with no shoes when she sings. Why? The reason is very special. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a shoeless homeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. Since then, Angelina has performed barefoot in honor of that little girl and to those who are less fortunate around the world. She keeps this promise to this day. One of the reasons why we love her so much!

You can head back in time to Norway’s got Talent which she entered when she was seven. she had 4 amazing performances, one of which was a cappella, which was basically pitch and timing perfection. She has several originals which she wrote between 11-and 15. She has performed so many songs, covering many different genre. You will never be able to guess from one song to the next wait to expect. She has an amazing ability to be distinctly Angelina while sounding so different with each of them. I’m quite sure you will be considering yourselves”Angels” very soon. ❤️❤️❤️❤️👣 This was also the first thing I ever saw from Angelina. I ran across it by accident, and Angelina has upended my musical world in the best of ways. I have seen her live this past September and was amazed by her performances. As another of her angels put it, with most performers, I like a few of their songs, but with Angelina, it's just about every one. No matter the age, the style Angelina kills it every time. She has become this 65 year olds favorite singer ever. I listen to her every day and a unique feature of her vocal performances is that you notice new things each time and become even more impressed. Angelina's family keep her grounded and protect her quite well. She is by all appearances a humble well adjusted young woman. She is 19 as of this January 10th. When she isn't busy teaching angels to sing she sings directly into our souls.

Angelina is a prodigy and much more she has a heart of gold and has worked diligently to help with children's needs and environmental things worldwide all before the age of 16, she gave her shoes to a poor child when she was the age of 4 or 5 and was the youngest author in Norway with the story about why she performs without shoes. Beautiful. Thanks for that. Yeah 7 years later she is probably better than anyone. Insane voice, it's way too beautiful. Unreal versatility and control. Uses those soul singing tools so well, and in any way she wants. Vibrato, breathy tones, fry. Just in time, she has loads of content, way more than a 16 year old should, though I guess she's 9 years in Hahaha. but you can catch up quite a bit I'm sure. She's probably gonna start her career for reals pretty soon and it's gonna be so cool to watch. Angelina did this 2 months after her 9th birthday the arrangement was done by her. She has video on KZbin of her singing at 18 months old. She has a number of nicknames barefoot angel, the girl with a 1000 voices, the boss and others. Angelina is Norwegian. She entered Norway's got talent when she was 7 years old and won. Angelina decides for herself. When it comes to the actual training and choice of songs etc., it has always been Angelina who made all the choices and decisions. Parents and others, on the other hand, have asked her to take it a little easier sometimes. Angelina is very special and her own driving force. Ever since she was 3-4 years old! Of course, all relatives and frends, have helped and protected her. Angelina and her closest, decided early on that she would have as normal a childhood as possible. Even when she won NGT, 8 years old, many wanted to sign a contract. Everyone was dismissed! Even Disney. And this Norwegian girl sings in English! Do you know that she speaks several languages.

She is doing a tribute to Screaming Jay Hawkins. Rest assured she is watched after closely by her family. She is 16 years old now. One interview she said she is reminded of her real age when she looks at her passport. She actually arranged this cover herself. She is considered a Child prodigy. She won Norway's Got Talent at age 8, after which all the record companies came knocking on her door, but her wise mother sent them all packing - even Disney! She is very well protected by a loving family and has recently signed a special record deal with Republic Records which will allow her to grow at her own pace. You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (160+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Michael Jackson to Etta James to James Brown to Amy Winehouse to the Beatles (and many others in between) and do them all justice! If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You have far to go with Angelina. She is equally comfortable and equally able to impact us whether singing a cappella, accompanied only by a piano or guitar, in front of professional studio musicians or a 40-piece military band. You must go and listen to Hawkins' original (and throw in a couple of "famous" covers as well) to see the true genius in how AJ incorporates many of his vocal elements [usually omitted by most singers]. Nice reaction. This song was my first time learning about Angelina. It has been about 3 years since then and my life hasn't been the same. She has covered so many songs, so many different genres, so perfectly. I really can't listen to any of my music I once listened to. Don't even want to. I have watched so many different reaction channels discover Angelina and then day by day as they do their thing and fall in love with this unbelievable voice and the emotional roller-coaster that comes with listening to Angelina is just amazing. Time and time again I watch some one react to either this song or HER Bohemian Rhapsody. I capitalize her because after she performed it on AGT the champions, the surviving members of Queen gave her the copyright for her version. To me that's pretty amazing. This is at age 13. Not to shabby for a teenager. So in between "I Put A Spell On You" and AGT there are probably 25 covers that are in the top 20 best performances ever. The other 100 or so are master class. Then after AGT she has continued to be the consummate artist. I am sure that she will be a household name in the near future. It amazes me that she isn't better known. She's been around for years and has had some amazing performances for some pretty famous people. I'm sure you will already know this because any one of the Angels will not hesitate to fill a page or more with their favorite part of Angelina's career. She is the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina wrote and her Grandmother illustrated a book about why she sings barefoot. She was on a trip to Iran where her grandmother is from and met a street girl weighing people for money. Angelina sat and talked with the girl. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, a doctor but that it could never happen. Angelina told her to never give up hope. The girl complimented Angelina on her shoes and Angelina noticed her scarred bare feet so she gave them to her, and the little girl told Angelina she would pray for her every day. Angelina sings barefoot to this day to remind herself (and the world) that there are still children in need. All book proceeds go to charity.

Angelina has occasionally had contact with singing teachers. But not so much to change her self-taught way of singing, but more to learn how to protect her amazing voice. Angelina, 5-6 yo, attended Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, She learned to play piano, guitar etc. She has also learned to arrange music etc. She started singing when she was very young! How good is Angelina? Absolutely, easily the best singer I’ve ever heard. She’s 9 here, this is her own arrangement-and, actually, she never sang this song the same way again. Angelina is known as the girl with a thousand voices, and you’ll see why. Another of her arrangements is her incredible cover of Bohemian Rhapsody on Americas Got Talent. Completely mesmerizing, nothing you’d expect, and you know Freddie Mercury would have loved it. Her covers of Adele will become your favorites. An old soul and Dashy, I can't believe you caught the Amy vibes right off the bat. She has actually covered Adele 7 times or more. All are preferred over the original. IMHO
