Spearmaster's... uh... biology? Anatomy? Spearmaster's tail spears interests me. I'm curious how they work exactly. We see little red lines that are attached to the needles. But not only do the lines provide instantaneous food as soon as the needles hit. The lines are also very very weak. Breaking very easily. And yet Spearmaster can just keep spawning and throwing. Spawning and throwing. Spearmaster is 7sun's test tube baby.

I think my little speculation on the whole needle food extraction thing Spearmaster has going on is that there is a tube inside of these needles that allow nutrients to pass up through it. Now, the red line helps deliver these nutrients to the spearmaster, perhaps there could be like pumps in the line or needle that help suction up all that nutrients faster. Perhaps they could be feeding on the blood of whoever is unfortunate enough to get stabbed by a spear. So basically, I think the spearmaster's bone spears are like the proboscis of a mosquito but with extra steps.

In the broadcast that Das skipped past in the dev tool montage it is the live broadcast version of a pearl you can find and get read by moon and such. At the end of it, it say that the broadcast will become a readable form in 432 cycles. Meaning Spearmaster is at least 432 cycles before the next slugcat where you can find that pearl (most likely Artificer but at least Hunter).

@@dovakiin296 Slightly different. Peppels took so much water from moon because he was creating the rot in a controlled state (the stuff Suns regretted telling him). Moon was dying so she used administrator priviliges as a last attempt and forced a boadcast towards Pepples which disturbed his process and created the rot the way we know it in game (wrong and messed up). He shut himself away shortly after as seen in this video and Moon still didn't recieve enough water till the point of collapse.

It's because, canonically, Gourmand arrives almost immediately after Hunter ascends/succumbs to his illness. You can find this out in game because Gourmand will find the Hunters Rot infested corpse in the room where you collapsed as Hunter if you failed to Ascend in time

Which explains why it's not just decayed infrastructure as in other regions, but it's amazing that any islands, pipes or towers survived there at all, really. In one of the colored pearls in the base game, Looks to the moon says that from hundreds of miles, pebbles is the only one who has the advanced pumping systems. He was also built closer to an iterator(Moon) since the more later iterators does not really need proper space since the older iterators already flooded their local areas anyway. So pebbles may not be the youngest of them all, but he certainly is the youngest on the local group.

it is said that Pebble is a newer Iterator, he was constructed after the old iterators caused, due to the vapor, for water to spread everywhere what iterators need and eventually after space ran out to build Iterators they took another look at Moons area and decided that two Iterators could share the groundwater. So pebble was build somewhere after most Iterators yes, though its not guranteed that he is the newest one.

@@dagdammit Yeah, seems like a more modest sized, and better organized, city was built, more or less by the time so many iterators were under construction that the surface started to become uninhabitable, but not so late that it was utterly so, and larger and more rushed (and probably poorer managed, due to the rapidly declining population?) cities were built on the remaining (and tallest) cans; hence FP's. Could also be that construction was in part or wholly managed by the iterator, in which case the construction reflects their temperament or personality. Moon does say she likes to keep things organized [Memory Conflux pearl]! ~

The true spearmaster experience is when you get shelter failure right in sky islands and then get in a hell loop. After you pass the hell loop through gamer skillz, you pick up one of those damn broadcasts RIGHT as scavs enter your vicinity and steal your fucking pearl. This is literally what happened to me and I came so close to uninstalling the game its beyond explanation.

All slugcats have a stomach cavity for storing something. That might explain why spearmaster has no mouth. Suns wanted to utilize that stomach cavity to store that message, without risking it being coughed up.

I myself went to Pebbles 1st, had THAT violent interaction unfold, then went to moon to have her read the pearl. I think you like…died after seeing Pebbles, setting you back in the save file ig and getting new dialogue when you went to Moon again! That’s why a chat member was confused if you’d gone to Pebs yet, it’s because you weren’t carrying the pearl (because after going to Pebs first you have to transport it by hand to Moon 🤷🤷). So, save-file wise, you went to Moon first, then Pebs, then Moon, then Comm array. Idk just sketching that out haha, some may be confused (as I was 🤔). No blame on you haha But again wonderful job on the editing!! I was ig not as excited for Spearmaster after Riv (dunno why, maybe no high hopes for big ending but they had a decent ending 👀). So basically through my experience.- Survivor pre dlc: lost manchild not much better than baby noodlefly Hunter pre dlc: cancer causes him to be incredibly incompetent Hunter post dlc and 5 slugs: secound strongest apart from artificer that managed to finish mission and avoid being cancer'd Gourmand #1'st time: Disabled fat man that somehow went high into food chain Gourmand 2#'d try: oppenheimer, he's not stuck in nature with creatures, they are stuck with him (3800 something points and 24 deaths only proves it) Spearmaster: views predators as lifestock, forgots pearl...... Artificer: unstoppable force, game suddently very easy, super scaredy of scavengers Rivulet: speedrun any% saint: the near extinct species of ones that actually enjoyed rubicon

It might be, but it's not guaranteed. A vanilla lore pearl states that SRS sent instructions to FP, dunno whether it's a reference to drought or not.

They are so many points of interesting things, starting with the lore communications u can know a bit more about the lore of the game. The fact of Moon is the sweetes person and she don't want to hurt u to get the pearl on ur stomach, and feed u while give u the mark. On my point of view playing with Spearmaster was great, i really liked the idea of getting food by spears only. The only negative side it was the ending which was unconfortable..... i feel was the campaing it was incompleted. And not talking about carrying the Pearl in the rest of the game. Apart from that i liked the experience, and watching other point, does anyone think Spearmaster, Hunter and Rivulet these three cats was sending by itinerators (Or maybe the same itinerator, i didn't check the lore at all) they got mutated before to send?. Like give to spearmaster the pearl inside of him to don't loss the information if he eject the pearl from the mouth by accident giving no mouth to him, and Rivulet mutated to make him faster and resist breathing high from the short cycles, i can't tell much about Hunter because i didn't play with him yet, but i know he was sending by a Itinerator to help Moon, and Hunter is described as having greater speed and strength but having cancer on his inside, wich probably the strenght and speed is providing for the virus (Making his purpoise to only help Moon).

Id inmage spearmaster has a second way of gain nutrition (im guessing its gentically modifed) is maybe ... solar absobtion now think about it black absorbs sunlight well and what coulur is the spear master! The reason is the solar is purely for the spear making and the stabby stab is mkre of fill the stomach or side with the solar but then again it could another way but its a theory worth mentioning.
