Do you think transitioning from data analyst to data engineer right now is a good time ? Im a data analyst and have been thingkin this for awhile, does de have better salary in general ? And how about data bricks and snowflake ?

Thank you for your insight, very valuable. Recently certified AWS Data Engineer from Europe here, I also have some skills with Java. Trying to figure out the next step in my career. I believe it's all about building stuff to get a better chance to land a job. Regarding all the real time streaming services in AWS I am a bit afraid to end up with a nice bill. I will find a way to experiment on a small dataset. I still need to master some tools, getting certified is not enough.

Does geographical location play part in likelihood of landing a US job role? Cause i'm Ugandan, I've built a few pipelines using spark, airflow, big query, redshift and deployed these to vms of gcp. But i've sent out many applications for internship opportunities to US companies and never get many responses I've also worked at AirQo as a data engineering intern and worked with real time streaming pipelines collecting and processing airquality data from a network of sensors deployed around africa.
