Hi Mike, I just wanted to thank you. I started watching your videos nearly two years ago now, applying what you talk about. Last month I landed a DA position that almost doubled my previous income. Your videos helped drive me to never give up and I am extremely grateful.

Really simple and clear explanation that provides a holistic view of the database client / server model 👍

Great video Mike, I completed your TSQL course at logikbot and I am able to do all the coding exercises and I also think I am in a intermediate level now, my question is, how do you keep improving your SQL skills after you master the basics, how do you keep getting better? Thanks
@thedatajanitor9537Ай бұрын
You'll need to get a job working with. The gains will come from that. You need the basics to get past the interviews. You can also working on more complex SQL. There's a guy that has books on Amazon... Itzik-Ben-Gan... he's probably the world's foremost SQL dev. His advanced books are advanced.

I Mike i have question, What are the main differences between ssms or azure data studio? what should we use?
@thedatajanitor9537Ай бұрын
Different tools. ADS is only for data movement. SSMS does it all.

Hi mike, kinda knew in this space. Are the last 3 video for da, de,ml or dba? Like if im at the beginning should I ignore these videos for now? Thank you and incredible job
@thedatajanitor9537Ай бұрын
Nope. The DA is an entry level role although it's becoming much harder to attain. The DE, MLE and DBA are top tier roles. Yep, stay away from them for now.

Hi Mike, I noticed you "forgot" to mention data scientists 😅. My understanding of DB use is to query the necessary data and then create a smaller, more managable table that is then used to process or clean in, say, python. Is that performed locally? Where are ML engineers running the ML operations? In a separate server, since the DB server is solely dedicated to DB operations.
@thedatajanitor9537Ай бұрын
Often in the cloud. Almost every company I've worked with in the last five years moves their data to a cloud tool like BigQuery or SnowFlake. Other companies have their own dev boxes or dedicated boxes for ML work.
