Not saying that discredits his lack of defense on the perimeter but in his early days he certainly was an all time great shot blocker/rim protector, on the lakers he also was averaging at least 2 blocks per game or more. But with actual perimeter guys/athletic wings like Iverson or McGrady Shaq often had a much harder time on defense. Hell even Grant Hill gave Shaq problems when he first came in, but I would say Shaq definitely wasn’t a bad defender by any means IMO

I grew up watching NBA on TNT/TBS when I was in high school. The show was always fantastic. But adding Shaq in there just brought it up to a new level that I didn't think was possible.
