As a Veteran, I am so proud of you guys! Serving as an out couple is a dream many of us worked hard to make a political reality. Y'all are living the dream that older gay military folks hoped would happen in our lifetimes. We are living vicariously through your journey. You guys are doing it and others will follow! Zach, you need to start an Officers Wives and HUSBANDS club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hugs from a boomer

I’m a US Army Veteran (1981-92) and a US Army Reserves Retiree (2003-14), which included a combat deployment to Iraq in 2004-5. All those years I was closeted and had to make relationships in my private life secondary to my military assignments d commitments. I so wished that I could have shared my personal life within my military freely and maybe I would have stayed on active duty instead of going inactive and reserves. I also had lost relationships because of my military service commitments.

Hello gentlemen… I ran across your channel by accident. I was looking at a film and when I finished one of your videos came up. I know you guys are both young, but you have no idea of what your relationship and the journey that It has taken has done for me. You are affecting more people than I believe you can possibly know. For example I am a 70 year old black man who has never found a partner so I’m living vicariously through you. You have brought me much joy and also exquisite tears. Good luck to you both and know that you are touching the heart of a universe.❤ All the best to you both…

Zack ❣️ Alastair, I love seeing you guys. The impact you have on me has been so inspiring! I'm 55yrs and I can tell you back in the 80's, me loving another Man was the worst thing. Being a gay man in my family was terrifying. So I ran away from the world not knowing where I fit in... I never dated again after I turned 22yrs old. I wasn't attracted to women, although I tried because it was expected. I made excuses over the years from not finding the right person to health conditions, for reasons I am alone for now 33yrs. Even now I'm still terrified of people finding out after seeing today how much society wants to go backwards. I am so glad, Zack/Alastair, you have the courage to push forward. Thank you for showing all of us that this beautiful kind of LOVE is possible!!!💞 You both need your time away from the camera, but I am always happy to see your videos. Til next time, love you both 🫂🙏❤️❤️🍻😎

Medications that deal with anxiety tend to make you gain weight, but it's the behavioural changes that makes you gain weight and not the medication in of itself. That is well known. You really have to be super vigilant with what you eat and also your level of fitness. A great way is to write down everything you eat each day in a journal and get familiar with a calorie counter. You'd be surprised how much you eat when you don't write it down and know when you are overeating.

Balance is very important. There will always be work to do, so you have to set your limits and respect them. Your young years are passing by very fast so you have to ensure you make the best of it. Working all the time, being stressed all the time to the point you need to take pills to control your anxiety, not sure it’s necessarily good for you. When you are young, you think life is forever, but what’s the point of living a life where you’re never with the person you love the most and not making the best of your life? You really need to find balance. I am sure that if you look at your work, there are things you could delegate more to free you some time. I’ve been in management for over 32 years. I could have worked 7 days a week, 10 hours a day and would still find work to do. I haven’t listened to your other show, but I was pleased to see Al so expressive and affectionate to Zack. Take care guys. Take the word of a 62 years old man…life goes on very quickly. You have to set up your priorities in life and determine if your job helps you meet your goals. I married a flight attendant, so I know what it is to be away from my husband a lot, but unlike Zack I can fly with him at times on his layovers. It’s a way to spend time together. I have seen so many people during my career not being able to set their limits and work all the time and realize that they turned 40 years old and didn’t see their young adult life go by. These years don’t come back so it’s now or never. I guess Al will have to answer the question, is it all worth it? Will I need more and more pills as I get more and more responsibilities? Is this really what I want? Is being stressed all the time what makes me happy? Many questions that deserve an honest answer before it’s too late. Being in El Paso, I hope you are going to vote for Beto!

Before there was medicine with side effects people used natural things like raw milk, plants, herbs and organic essential oils with no side effects. Some organic lavender oil when you apply it to your skin and diffuse it, will make all anxiety and even depression go away with time. It even heals ptsd and helps you sleep like a baby at night.

In my experience with anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications, I have found that they do help in dulling negative emotions, but I also didn't feel positive emotions the same. I am not on meds anymore for that reason. I still do feel anxious, but it helps to find other strategies (journaling, listening to music, making art, etc.) to alleviate my anxiety.

Allister, as a therapist and 25 year husband of an overweight man who takes meds for anxiety and depression, I get your struggle. My husband has tried negotiating his meds with his provider. He has tried working out. He has tried going to a nutritionist. None of his actions have worked. We have concluded that his mental health is more important than his weight gain. I don't like living with a chub, but there is more to this marriage than his physical body. I suggest that you continue to talk with you shrink about your struggle to balance your physicality and with your sense of self. I think it is perfectly acceptable to ask the Dr about the medicine regimen. Like all medications they should be reviewed once and a while to make sure you're not having adverse reactions or issues. So cool to hear Zach say what we were all thinking as the dog marked his new territory with a ceremonial pee. I hope the new place in El Paso is everything you want it to be.
