Atelier des Ors is the house that impressed me with all the perfumes it releases. I can not say that there is a perfume that I don't like from the house. Very good products.

Chris this whole Argos thing needs to be made transparent. All at about the same time, you and several other youtubers gushed over Argos fragrances, you and other youtubers left out whether or not you paid for the bottle yourselves or if the company sent it to you for review, along with that you all these Argos reviews have discount codes and affiliate links in the descriptions again with no disclosure of business between reviewer and manufacturer. And you Chris even have affiliate Agros links in videos that have nothing to do with Argos. It's okay to network with companies, it's even fine to say good things about a brand for money, that's what sponsorships are and there's nothing wrong with that. The problem is that we trust you Chris and you haven't been up front exactly with your relationship with Argos. We've supported you long enough to earn your honesty. Just tell us how it is man.

You're absolutely right. I thought I'd mentioned the bottle was sent free for review but I did not. I've updated that information in the video description of my review. I get a small kickback from the affiliate links which help me to keep this channel running and I greatly appreciate anyone who supports me. I only choose to work with certain brands if I enjoy what they are offering. This assures that the brand gain exposure, I am able to maintain honesty and the kickback allows Fragmental to continue. Honestly I'm thinking of going the Patreon route as this is perhaps a less "murky" strategy to keep the content rolling.

I totally get that it's impossible for reviewers to purchase every bottle so I think free bottles for review are a godsend for the fragrance community in general, and sponsorships have their place too. You've been the most consistent reviewer I've seen when it comes to transparency in your time on youtube, (apart from Jeremy of course, he told Tom Ford his fragrance gets bad reactions to his face. Lol that's transparency unlike any other) I try to watch every video I can and I can't wait to try out your collaboration project with Aaron whenever yall bring it to market! Stay well Chris!

@@joeykimble62 That's very understanding Joey. It's refreshing to hear from someone who "gets it". I couldn't maintain the momentum of my channel if I was relying only on what I can afford to purchase. I understand people also want negative criticism to maintain a balance. It's a very difficult line to walk as a creator because I don't like being negative about brands (particularity smaller brands) when my humble opinion could cost them thousands of pounds in lack of sales. Many people may not give a brand a chance based on a negative review when they may actually love a particular fragrance. We all like different things so I'm careful not to be too negative about a fragrance just because it isn't something I'd wear. I largely choose to use my channel as recommendations. That way the brands are happy and I can always mantain honesty. Plenty of channels are happy to provide negative reviews but it's not something I'm comfortable with. I appreciate your support and understanding.

@@FRAGMENTAL I can see how the Patreon route would solve some things but it wont solve the fact that your channel has gotten to a point where even just your initial impression of a fragrance will influence sales. I think the best advice I can give you is to continue with what you're doing. Especially in this example; you'll hurt a fragrance's sales when you'll admit it has poor performance but you also have those videos in which you'll make a case that we should reevaluate our associations, and why fleeting or quiet fragrances are preferable. I myself am a nurse and my fragrances have to be quiet so I loved that video on the poor performers. I think it's a good idea to present a case that there's something to like about that which we associate as a flaw. Those types of videos help newbies mature into level headed enthusiasts and fosters an environment where you won't feel like you have to balance on a tightrope trying not to come off as either Billy Mays or Simon Cowell.
