Destiny's outright refusal to condemn Israel for any act whatsoever ALMOST makes it seem like he is motivated solely by tiny hat interests. Poor guy, it must be getting extremely challenging for him to defend what it is obviously indefensible. He's having to resort to constantly shifting the definitions of words or claiming that any reports of incidents that don't align with his agendas must be lies. He is a complete and utter joke.

Rewatching it: it's even worse for Alex. He assumes for the whole debate that Steven objective is to defend Israel/the IDF. Steven's aim is never to defend one side over the other, his aim is to understand factually what happened, searching for the truth, and making an opinion afterwards. He never tries to obfuscate the truth, hide "evidence" contrary to his point, he just wants to understand what happened. That's why is very insulting from Alex: he takes for granted that Steven is basically a stooge for Israel, that will do anything to make his point. Thus, the confusion on "why are you making them watching a video that supports my point?" If Alex really knows Steven, this is a low blow....

He literally denied what the general said about the incident and was too hard headed to take 20 seconds and rewatch that part of the video to see if he heard him correctly. Then, vietmetly defends an imaginary statement(that he either misheard or intentionally misrepresents) that he "believes" the general said (despite him saying the opposite). General's statements: "There is an investigation into those events." -cut in interview- : "Mistakes happen and we investigate every mistake" Totalogically concluding it was at least a potential mistake based on these two statements in conjuction. And yet Destiny wholesale denies even when it's a simple a + b = c thought process. He is biased and every single thing he goes over is the most charitable possible in all needed areas of assumption he will always without a doubt paint isreal as the level headed ones, even when they are shooting people moving at 1mph waving a white flag with their hands in the air from over 500 meters away. Then literally says this is how it would happen in America, aka completely obfuscating the situation, what you claimed he "never did". Id love to provide you any other examples of him doing this if you want 😇. But it'd be quicker if you just clicked on any video of him talking about Isreal to see for yourself 😇😇

@bobbobino6859 True. It should never matter if you’re walking into a restricted area, so long as you move slowly and wave a white flag. Okay, so this would be a good faith interpretation of the events leading up to this video: 1) The area this was filmed in used to be considered "safe" until very recently. 2) The IDF ordered an evacuation of the area, but some 50 people did not manage to get away. 3) Distressed family members tried to go back and retrieve their loved ones from what was now a battlefield. 4) The IDF shoots at them as they cross into the "not safe zone". A tragedy to be sure. No need to jump to the conclusion that the IDF gleefully kills civilians at any chance they get, or that these civilians wanted to martyr themselves. You can skip the video now thanks.

@adtastic1533 well not really. if you had a situation inside a city, in the us, where civilians are acting in a terroristic militia manner. And form rather advanced coordinated attacks, and strategic fighting maneuvers designed to take down federal and state institutions, as well as engaging with direct combat against the civilians in the city or neighboring cities... you will 100% deploy the army to deal with, and handle the situation. you will not leave that for the police... police are relatively untrained.. compared to the army. especially in situations like that. I believe last time us army was deployed on us soil, was in the Rodney king riots. and I'm pretty sure the national guard was deployed on January 6th.. (obviously there are also more instances...) also the us has 100% deployed the army into civilian populations in other countries.. that they were at war with.. what are you talking about? anyway... I don't get your comment. why be so obtuse? there's no way you don't know you're wrong, and if you didn't when you wrote that, there's no way you wouldn't have figured out you were wrong if you had thought about it for a bit alone too.. you can criticize israel, it's fine.. just do it logically and honestly.

@@kraljict My issue with the "warning shots" convo isn't whether or not the IDF is allowed to use them. My issue is that Alex thinks that proves something. The lack of warning shots does not prove that IDF soldiers target civilians. This and his "if this was the police" schtick shows an ignorance in how either of those duties are performed. We have the video footage and that's about it, but there are ton of details missing that are important in making a determination. What was going on in the lead up to this? Why are the IDF soldiers stopped in this particular area? The men had stopped walking previously, were they being warned to stay back and they ignored it? There's too much we don't know. Let me give you something to consider, the ITV video said there were multiple weapons fired according to their acoustics expert. What if the first person to fire was attempting a "warning shot" and another soldier got confused? Is it a war crime at that point or a tragic mistake?

He's either genuinely too stupid to be debating the topic or so ideologically dug in that he's also not capable of having the debate. Destiny merely questioning anything EQUALS he's supporting/defending the IDF and Israel... Yikes dude. The fact that they can literally watch the same video of an IDF soldier explaining that his troops were in the area and that some mistakes are made in war, and Alex walks away thinking this IDF soldier is admitting to mistakenly shooting those Palestinians in the last video. The Bias-Brain is FULL EFFECT. The further you watch the video, a million more examples keep flying by. We learn that one of the interviewed Palestinians says they were ordered to evacuate but the IDF wouldn't let his brother evacuate. Alex's conclusion --> The IDF was holding their brother for "No good reason" with absolutely NOTHING TO GO OFF OF. Just immediately assumes the IDF are holding a random person because they're racist or ignorant... I'm getting brain cancer the more I watch. Jesus... Alex really just suggested that a normal operation for IDF would be to send a drone in, find any random person they find on the drone, and then drop a 100,000 dollar bomb on that random individual... Imagine you are a soldier, you have been in multiple fire fights throughout the week and you have seen your friends die to people dressed in regular clothing. The job your doing today had you sending a group away from a target and told everyone to keep their distance. You are set to watch everyone’s back and 5 guys roll up on your team. There is noise and you’d rather not let them get close enough to use a weapon so You raise your weapon to let them they know they are under threat they keep coming, you and your team charge your weapons another visible sign that warns them to keep their distance. they still keep moving forward, if they get much closer with a hidden bomb grenade or weapon could come into play and you your team and the whole unit will be under threat. What’s left?

"what would police do" argument is so tiring. Job of the police is to protect everyone and solve all kinds of civil issues. While job of the military is to accomplish their mission. If they were told to hold that ground or something along those lines, or simply that they were doing something and could not let people close in, and these people still advanced, white flag is not going to save them. This is literally why we don't want military to be doing police work or anything domestically.
@Gorpos
@Gorpos Ай бұрын
Police argument falls apart real fast. If you approach a police line or officers doing an arrest, they’re not gonna shoot unless they give a warning or without physically restraining. But Police and military have different rules of engagement. But if you have a milligram of common sense, you would know not to approach. But also do police have to deal with suicide bombers? Because if they did, you sure as shit would shoot if people approached.

"If your mom is surrounded by police and you walk towards them with your hands up, whilst holding a flag." a.) These are not police in the act of normal duty on the streets of suburbia. These are Soldiers in an Active warzone. b.) in combat a closing of the distance is the difference between life and death for a soldier especially when dealing with terrorists who actively deploy deception to close that gap. c.) in active warzones areas are demarcated as no go zones precisely because they are deemed as still not clear and unsafe for both the Soldiers and Civilians. d.) Search and Destroy missions are always used as a means of clearing areas and anything moving in that area is deemed as Enemy by default. e.) when dealing with an enemy who actively is using its citizenry and breeching international law by operating within schools and hospitals etc. A person holding a white flag no longer has any meaning. The rules have been changed by the enemy. The Military are simply reacting to a changed landscape of rules. f.) if you are instructed by a military to stop advancing, you stop advancing. It does not mean Advance slowly or advanced whilst creeping, It MEANS STOP ADVANCING. People who argue like this clearly have never seen active duty and has spent far too much time behind Tv's and Keyboards. War is Brutal and cares not for your active sense of sensibilities. War is not meant to make sense. It is meant to defeat the enemy through Brutal force and an escalation of Might using Violence. War = Death and Destruction.

Alex is a great guy, but he's bought full on propaganda here, without asking himself questions. Noticed how everytime Steven asks a question, or tries to think, reflect about the situation, Alex starts interrupting, preventing any questioning about the topic? And Steven is not asking wild questions, they're perfectly logical. The problem is: when you're already bought in the propaganda, and you already picked a side, you have nothing to gain by questioning your sources. Youcan only have negative consequences: you can realize you were wrong, you can think your side may manipulate you, you can feel stupid, etc.... that's why at a certain point he asks "Wait, why are we going down these rabbit holes?" when simply questioning what happens. Knda disappointing....

This is one of the most obvious, easiest debates I have seen in a while - so I find it very amusing to see some people, who I'm guessing must be young, still siding with Alex. It's very obvious Alex isn't capable of critically assessing the validity and actual meaning of information. He constantly uses his own interpretation of information as fact - which is something you can absolutely not do, if you want to come to meaningful conclusions. If you seriously think Alex is in the right here, you have a very surface level understanding and were never properly taught how to for example dissect scientific papers in uni - most likely because you have never had to go through that level of education, since you are a very young person. My advice to you would be, to try and watch/listen to these debates not to get a purely ego-driven enjoyment out of them, since you're probably treating it like a sport - but instead I would suggest for you to try and actually get something out of them, by being open to learn from them. Even if Destiny was completely in the wrong factually here, he would still have won this debate - based on some very, very obvious principles by which we assess the validity of information. If we don't stick to these principles, we're gonna end up with nothing.

He "we got it; we open a 'zig'", opening a zig is a military term when you need to come around the corner and check quickly if there is a threat around. at 1:05:17, the translation is "saw someone get on the ground, he came to my direction did this to me" not true, what he actually said: "the moment we came, someone *got up* and he bends down, he came to my direction and did like that(waving his hands)" at 1:05:33, the translation is "-there was only one person" not true. His claim in the first video(14:02) that they stood still and then slowly walked ("weren't actively walking toward the area") and got shot is just wrong. If you look at the video where they hold the flag up and are standing still, there's a piece of plastic dangling past the second wooden pole, and when it cuts to them walking they are a good distance past that plastic piece on the wall. Meaning from the moment they stood still in the video waving the flag and passport, to the video of them walking, they had walked probably a distance of 50+ meters before getting shot at. I think it's safe to assume they had been warned, or were at least somewhat aware to the boundaries of the zone, considering they were standing right outside it waving a flag, before proceeding to advance. Even the camera people and the other people keeping a good distance from them indicates that the people there knew that where they were headed was dangerous.
