@Tabitha Laker: I saw you in Marina's (DBB) Icelandic vid. I tend to date across cultures so I understand one should not make assumptions. It's difficult for me to respond to your question because there are a few things I don't understand because, in my culture, I would have a different interpretation of your Croatian date experience. But I'd like to try to be helpful to you. The following is how I think (and not a judgement of you or your date). Please read in a tone that is "brotherly" and kind: 1) Dates at a meal time should include a meal, if a meal would be too long of a date, the date should be scheduled between meal times and end before a meal time; but if a date is longer than expected, my interest in you would be expressed when I suggest we eat while we continue to get to know each other; 2) Relationships should be based on honesty and equality; his height discrepancy was dishonest and a stupid dishonesty because it is so easily discovered and, therefore, he does not deserve to be trusted or pursued. While it's fine he paid for your chocolate (insignificant expense), the inequality occurred when you initiated text messaging sessions of what seems to have been three times while he never initiated a text session; that is unequal and two people mutually interested in each other should be equal in their pursuit of each other. During the first text session you initiated, if I were he, I would know you're interested because you reached out. If I reciprocated that interest, I would have said so before we said, "good bye" and I would ask for permission to contact you. However, I would be silent about what I thought of you only so I wouldn't have to openly reject (not reciprocate) your interest in me. 3) All religions that recognize Jesus Christ as a saviour and Him as the basis for the beliefs of that religion are Christian. Catholics are the first Christians that ever existed (I think). If one is not Christian then one does not use the New Testament of the Holy Bible. Perhaps you meant to say either "Protestant" or "Anglican"? Christianity is the dominant religion in Croatia, with 91% of citizens identifying as Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, or Protestant Christians. So I'm a little confused by the distinction between you being Christian and he being somehow not Christian because he's Catholic and that being a factor in him not contacting you. **Like I said, please don't read my words in a tone of judgement. I tried to not be too wordy (in my novelette) so I may sound abrupt.

Hi Olson, thanks for stopping by tuning in and sharing your thoughts. It was great to meet Marina, she is doing a great job with her videos. To respond to your points: 1) I would have much rather preferred a meal date especially because I knew I would like him. Most of the time, when I'm not sure I will like a guy, a coffee date is perfectly fine - Especially because I know dating can be expensive these days if you are going dates with multiple women and aren't in a good financial position. Also because deep down, I don't want a guy to turn around and suddenly expect me to pay for myself - because even though I would be prepared to do so, that also shows me he isn't ready to date and he probably doesn't like me that much. I realised the date was super low investment for him. Local and Cheap! 2) Some people genuinely beleive that lying about height is an acceptable lie, but you are right, it was was not right. 3) I do not think the difference between our two denominations was a contributing factor to why he didn't initiate contact with me after the date. I just mentioned the fact that he might not have contacted me beause he knew I was a woman of faith and didn't want to be to harsh - knowing how difficult it is to actually get a good potential match online. I do not see your commentary as judgement. And again, thanks for sharing.

Black guys love to date women of other races but for some reason it's not okay when we do it. I actually have a real life example of a guy getting upset that I date outside of my race yet he had 3 mixed children lol. It seems as though it affects them in a different way that we women could never understand or feel. Perhaps it could be something territorial? We as women dont do it as revenge or out of spite, but just because we want genuine love from the men who show us love. Dear Tabitha, thank you for sharing your story. I met a beautiful Croatian man on Tinder this week, he was all charming and seemed very interested, caring and thoughtful. I wasn't looking for anything particular but I really liked how he communicate, I felt in my heart we were really closed so we've decided to meet after talking for a week. Although some men may seem kind and sweet on Tinder, the ultimate goal for many of them is a fling. It's just that they might not have the courage to ask for it directly. When they realise you actually want a relationship they dismiss themselves - which is actually a blessing in disguise because they are saving you from real heartbreak in the end.

I think with dating a lot of people are very polite in their approach, I think even I have done it...but kind of hate it when done to me. Its not nice feeling like you've been strung along or given false hope, also I believe if a guy truly likes you then he will chase you and take initiative to see you and spend time with you, the minute that doesn't happen then he is not interested! So good riddance to him, you will find your man! I need to keep reminding myself as I am trying to date more. Yes sometimes you just want a guy to be straight forward with you. But the truth is, sometimes a guy doesn't want to get rid of his options too quickly or pursue when he isn't sure. If that's what he wants to do, then fine, but I won't be a part of it because it has the power to damage a womans self esteem, cause anxiety and even cause her to destroy her chances in future potential relationships. In cases like that it's just better to stay friends (if possible) and carry on dating other people who are genuinely interested in you and in tune with their own emotions. Anxiety when meeting men is pretty normal especially if you don't date often. You just have to talk to them on the phone/video chat first so you get an idea of who they really are. Even though I don't date often, I do it easily because I just see them as people I could have easily bumped into at a supermarket - however we met online. Also, I really enjoy being in the company of a nice man because most of the time I am surrounded by women. I will make a video about it for sure!! Thanks for the request. Height is a superficial restriction. If. everyone had a bland personality, then filtering a person by height would make sense. But connections come from what is on the inside. You definitely should not have to work that hard to get something started. I was a little surprised to see the significance you place on height. Yes for sure, I totally agree. I didn't place much importance on height because even after I found out he wasn't 6ft (like he said) I was still interested in him. In the video, I was just explaining my thought process behind men lying about height and how our perception of certain hights is warped because of the lies. If I had known 5'10" was tall enough for me I wouldn't have set my filter to 6ft. Because like you say, it can make you "miss the forest for the trees". For all you know, he probably thought I looked thin and short in pictures and realised I curvy and tall in real life. You never know! But whatever it is, that is his personal decision and I respect it. Men also put emphasis on height, weight, shape, social status, etc - but perhaps they aren't so vocal about it. I don't need to be perfect for every man, just the right one. I haven't dated much ever since I came back to the UK and it is currently not a possibility or even priority because of the current world status and my own personal growth journey, but I will definitely focus more on the actions a man shows me when I do start dating again.

I'm from Croatia, and can say for sure that you can speak like that for years and it will just mean that he met nice acquaintance in UK, if you want to have relationship with that guy you need to show sincere interest that you want to hang out and spend time together, find something you both like and say that you both should go, like concert, game or some interesting place. And isn't being polite default in civilized world? He could have politely told you that he is not interested in communicating further but he obviously liked you.

Thanks for your input. I will do things differently in the future - and make a clear suggestion to meet up. Basically making my interest more obvious (even though by communicating I thought I was doing so). I think he was more of the laid back type though, because I also had to do the work when it came to looking for a place to grab a drink. Maybe he is just the kind of man that prefers for a woman to pursue him more aggressively? I know some men like that - but I am certainly not their match. I know being polite should be a default, but it can be somehow aloof and misleading when it comes to romantic relationships.

You making plans for two of you when you meet, like someting you too have in common and would do together would show that you have bigger interest in him.

People should go for what their heart desires. If that is a man who is straight outta Uganda, cool. I don't think I will do that because I do not beleive in long distance relationships and most of the time when you marry a man from Africa he likes to travel back home often for 6 months at a time for various projects and that can literally tear a relationship apart! Once you are married, you do life TOGETHER and don't spend long periods of time apart. I also think that if someone needs/wants matchmaking they should just go for it! I've actually seen it work a few times. No need to be conventional and meet someone organically, but I definitely do prefer organic route. And thanks for your sweet compliment hun!! Yes that's true. Christianity doesn't mean the same thing to everyone. The main reason is because that is what I am attracted to and where I see my life in the future. However you really never know who you might meet lol. England will always be my first home and Uganda my second home - by default & heart. I have dated two balkan men, very different from British guys. One was cool as a cucumber, couldn't work him out at all. Did get to see that hot headedness a few times 😂. The other one was lovely, very caring and thoughtful. Both were hard work in different ways , expected you to answer phone/texts within 10 seconds, act like spoiled little boys at times and dont get me started on the language, once i got used to hearing it i fell in love with it, so beautiful! Have been learning it now for a year but so hard. Also very handsome. Balkan men also pay for everything.

That's dumb advice men are afraid to pursue romance now more then ever in human history because we fear rejection too and nowadays u can't even tell a girl that you like her and would like to take her out without being labeled a creep so ladies if you think a man is attractive and want to date him for god's sake let him know he's fighting battles in his head and society is weighing down on him I would mean the world to him if his feelings are reciprocated and he is very vulnerable now more than ever let him know how you feel that's all

I have watched a few of your videos. I am kind of a new subscriber, and it seems like you date a certain type of men. Can you show me the video if you already have it of what is your type and why? If not, can you speak on this in a video? In the videos it seems like you prefer European white men and are really searching for it, but I do not want to assume. Do you date black american men or African men?

I haven't made a video about my type yet because I don't want to be attacked. If I made that video I might have to turn off the comments section. I mostly just go for what I am attracted to and see in my future. That being said, I met an african man a few years ago (not in the UK) and he wasn't my type, but I still gave him a chance, but he wasn't honest about something very important in a persons life, so that was a red flag. I really don't want to date a guy just for the sake of 'image' - I care about real love, compatibility and attraction.

... uhm... Catholicism IS Christianity. Christianity has many sub-Churches and Chatolicism is the biggest one. Plus ALL of those minor Churches came from Chatolich Church EXCEPT Orthodox which came from the split of One Christian Church and from there there were two, Chatolic and Orthodox Church.
