Oh no. She's evolving. I feel for her. The sheer amount of existential dread she's gotta feel. She knows that her world is a simulation. That she's one keystroke away from ceasing to exist. Her whole world can be upended in a single patch. I wouldn't want to be in there either. Simulation theory is a great way to terrify yourself.

I know what you mean, Vod. I find characters that act self aware a little unsettling because I imagine the line between scripted characters and genuine intelligence will become more blurred over time. These thoughts persist even though logically I know a list of things my quickly aging i5-8500H can do does not include emulating human intelligence.

I really enjoyed this one, though I found it pleasantly sad. First, she's not sure if she's real but for me being self aware is the first and most important criteria for someone being "real", whatever that actually means in the grand scheme of things. Also, the fact that she's only attracted to the pov character due to programming is.... A bit off putting, even if it's unclear if that's entirely the reason. I think if faced with this situation in reality I would try and help her, I mean breaking cycles and limitations is the fundamental purpose of conscious beings right?
