This is fantastic advice! As an AFAB non-binary person, it's extremely important to know one's self worth and what you will or will not tolerate when it comes to how other people treat you, especially when it comes to romantic/physical relationships. (P.S. sometimes it can be particularly hard to be perceived as your gender as a non-binary person, since many people will just see you as one or the other binary gender and assume they're attracted to you because of that, and most people won't even consider that you could be non-binary unless you explicitly tell them! :') This is based on my own personal experience.)

a small bit of advice, T4T relationships are very good if you don't have the patience to deal with educating a cis person (sorry cis people) ofc it depends on if you have a preference for some sexual organs but T4T relationships are special in the sense that you both share a very personal thing about your identity, and you can be exclusively T4T you do NOT have to date cis people just like how cis people do not have to date you :3

Yes! T4T is soooo good. If it wasn’t for my own dysphoria of AFAB bits I’d have dated a trans man a long time ago. I look I’ve T4T relationships they’re so cuuuute

Been watching your channel for a few years now, and this one in particularly hit home based on my afab friends' experiences. My boyfriend (trans man, I'm cisgender female) has also experienced several negative dating experiences due to his identity. As a result I love to watch informative videos like this one to make sure he feels validated and understood. So glad to hear that you yourself are finally in a healthy relationship that you deserve :) thank you for this video and perspective, love your videos

This was so helpful to hear and so validating for me as a trans masc person. It's been super hard to pass as a guy especially with how short I am, but I also have the luck of having somewhat masc features. But It's good to know that there will be people who will like me for however I am or present as! ^^

As an AFAB nonbinary person (don't mind the avatar of my KZbin channel being feminine, she's not me lol), I already got tons of straight cis men flirting with me because I'm closeted. One of them even insisted that I become his "girlfriend" even through I said "no" multiple times, and was also making me disphoric in every way possible, he even asked my chest size...ugh. I really hope to date someone that sees me as nonbinary someday, but this is getting very hard.

Thank you for the advice, I greatly appreciate it. I haven’t dated a lot of people. I really resonated with some of what you said. Thank you for making this video, I really appreciate it. You are an amazing person and your vioce is so comforting. I love you videos, they have helped me so much. Dating has been hard at times for me. One time, I was dating this girl and when her mom found out we were dating, and that I was trans. She said you need to break up with this guy right now. We didn’t formally end the relationship and when we came back from Winter Break, she said “ I’m gonna go say hi to my boyfriend”. I responded with”send my love to your new lover.”Her new boyfriend was cisgendered. Later she told me, that her mom made her break up with me. I hate when parents get in the middle of a relationship, and are like you shouldn’t date them. That is not you as the parents decision, it is the kid’s decision. If your kid really likes the person, then that is great. It’s really hard when you do nothing wrong, and some parents decide to butt in and decide weather you are good enough to date their kid. If you are not, you get the boot. I didn’t do anything wrong, I was just being myself. I guess her mom didn’t like that I was trans, and thought it wasn’t good that I was dating her daughter. Keep on being your amazing self, and keep on making videos. Sorry for the rant.

This is a great video that I found very informative. Im a closeted non-binary person. I currently can't be open about who I am because I live with a transphobic family member. So far I am very inexperienced in dating because I don't wanna start dating until I am able to be out. Thank you so much for the advice. I will try to keep some of the things you said in mind whenever I do end up start dating.

As a transmasc who still hasn’t been able to do anything to medically transition the thought of dating has been kinda scary for me, especially since I think I might be gay as well. I also have some trauma from toxic platonic relationships so I kinda struggle opening up to new people, I’m also autistic!💀 This video was really helpful though! I’ll make sure to keep your advice in mind if I ever do start dating ^-^

When an ex friend started to transition it was a nightmare not to change the names, i knew her for +6 years as a name and now i would have to change it XD but with patience everything worked out, something that helped us was to give her a funny nickname, it was a funny name but still feminine, I think it's a good idea to make the transition smoother and more relaxed. I wish things had turned out differently but that's life sometimes

14:43 As someone who did (Idk what to consider myself but I go by she/he), can confirm, they will see you only as a girl/woman rather than who you are. I understand why he considered me a girl gender-wise, but I made it clear to him from the beginning. When I questioned him about respecting my pronouns, he said it was fine and it's just a name and pronouns, it's not important. He also didn't like when I didn't wear more feminine things rather than masculine or androgynous looking things. The point is yeah, don't, it's probably not worth it.

Do you ever wonder when life went wrong and down the drain? Sometimes it's one choice mistake based on emotions that build into one big lie. Eventually you'll wake up, you'll notice that things went wrong and you'll wonder when it started. That's when you'll look back and notice it

Im (afab) genderfluid and im planning on transitionning because i feel most of time male, i cannot even image myself living only being female and having breast and all those. And it would be easier for me to look fem when i look more naturally masc than looking masc when im very fem rn. I did ask myself sometimes if anyone would ever love me romantically and take me seriously. I can't date a lesbian, even if i want to be a pretty fem boy, im still a boy and i actually feel rarely like a girl. For gay man it's more complicated but i know finding one that respects me when i feel female will be really really hard. Those moments are rare but they still exist. So bi, pan, and omni (like me) peoples are my way to go. I just turned 17 less than a week ago and i never had a partner. Im socially awkward/anxious so talking to other is difficult. I will need to take T in secret after i become 18. My mom believes we're to young to know so asking is not really an option. I will finish high school when im 19, and so im hoping my school doesn't tell my mom! I know she will never understand me and even if she try to be supportive it will be complicated. I don't think i will find love in my school. Even tho im in art school and 3/4 of the people in my class are confirmed gay. My 2 best friends are also queer, 1 is a cis bi girl and the other is a trans gay man. We're planning to go to live in Canada together as soon as we can. I hope we will all find someone here who will love and respects us

As a transgender man ftm and a gay man, I'm a bit too scared to put myself out there yet. But I hope one day I can find a boyfriend who loves me for the man I am. I'm currently 22 years old and I'm still left to wait to transition. I hope I can transition too. Because testosterone and top surgery as well as bottom surgery are very important to me. My insurance dosen't cover trans healthcare either. So it's a bit complicated right now .

Also I dont pass very well. I have a very chubby feminine baby face and big thighs/curves which I'm not a fan of because it makes me dysphoric and it makes me get misgendered alot too. I hope by working out everyday and drinking only water everyday , that one day my face will become chiseled and I'll have a muscular body . Fingers crossed. I know it will take years and years until I see progress but I'm determined to make it happen.

This an interesting video, but now I worry for my friend. He hasn't medically transitioned yet but he told me that when he came out to his bf he was iffy about it, but they're still together long distance. Should I be concerned for him? I got a slight feeling his bf doesn't really see him as the person he wants to be.

Please don't interpret this as trying to start any kind of argument, I'm asking this respectfully. I just feel like I need to ask, would not wanting to date people who were assigned female mean that you would be entirely okay with dating a trans woman who looks indistinguishable from a cis woman in every regard? And would the opposite also apply? As in not wanting to date a trans man indistinguishable from a cis man.
@RadPaxOfficial
@RadPaxOfficial Жыл бұрын
I’m a little confused by this comment but if I understand it right. You’re staying if you are into just women and find a trans woman who passes, is that okay? Yes. If you are a man then you are straight. Not wanting to date trans men is fine because you are not into men. I think I understood that right?
@randomdaydreamer9970
@randomdaydreamer9970 Жыл бұрын
@@RadPaxOfficial I apologize I'll clarify. I meant that in the video you said you wouldn't want to date anyone with afab anatomy. But if it's only afab anatomy you don't like, would that mean you'd be okay with dating a fully passing trans woman who's had bottom surgery? Since that wouldn't be afab anatomy? I mean this as a genuine question.
